Remove dungeon deserter debuff

I could be remembering wrong but three guildies tried to vote a toxic person out but the other non guild member of our party disagreed and we didn’t get it through. So I’m not sure that’s true.

Things could have changed again though. If I’m grouped with friends in different guilds we can kick anyone without the limitation.

to be fair, assuming the forum rules on these forums are the same as the old forums.
Then on the forums “otherwise objectionable” is a criteria to get banned here :stuck_out_tongue:

But if a mod reviews the chat log, sees their damage output is in line with other people, and the kickers have a 99% kick rate for dungeons they enter.
Then its reasonable to assume they decided to kick even before entering and its a form of trolling.

its 4, partly the reason i always queue with a friend lol :joy:

yeah but the thing is, if its someone as good as me, their meters will be top, the best, like… my DPS meters are longest and thickest, does that mean I could kick everyone?

I made a detailed reply.
I cant post images although I posted none.
My only guess is the avatar bit in a quote.
Not retyping.
Sorry to end argument like that.

But basically we all can tell if someone is not trying properly.

I was pretty sure it was three to vote someone out.

Im 90% sure its 4 for dungeons, 3 people should mark you in LFR/WF and 2 in IEs

Certainly not 4.
I’ve been in groups with a friend before and one of us got kicked.
And I’ve been with my fiance before and got a kick.

I’ve never kicked and there is no chance they kicked.

Its 3

you’re bringing it down to subjectivity of mod. which would cause drama aside from all the other effort. hence why its currently unmoderated and whoever can do whatever they want.

Found some info on a wiki but nothing about the numbers yet.

Will carry on digging

3 is majority so I guess.

I’m not saying my ideas are perfect.
Just that a group should not be allowed to spend all day every day dedicated to giving people 30 minute bans from dungeons for no reason other than finding it fun and have it be in the rules.
And I think that is more than reasonable.

it is, but if you cant objectify it, it wont work.

According to that wiki you can’t continuously kick. The more you kick the longer the timer is in between allowing you to kick.

Some facts:

  1. You only need 3 people to vote yes for a kick.
  2. Without the debuff it’s not true that people could just rejoin group after group. There is already a separate timer that prevents you queuing for dungeons more than once every 15 minutes.
  3. It’s very easy to kick and people kicking for terrible reasons happens alot.

I was once in a group of 4 druids and a hunter who kicked the hunter for “not being a druid”. That hunter, who had probably already queued for the dungeon for 20 minutes then got a 30 minutes debuff that prevented him joining the 20 minute queue again. That’s a total 70 (20+30+20) minute wait between dungeons. Lots of people don’t have a 70 minutes plus time to actually do the dungeon slot to play WoW, so that’s potentially an entire gaming session, maybe his one session in a week, where he couldn’t play dungeons.

i think the overall problem here is, yet again, the toxic nature of the playerbase. obviously not everyone, but the ones kicking for no reason. with a secondary reason of people clicking things without reading. (ie they dont actually know they are vote kicking, they’re just pressing the big red button.)

If the playerbase didn’t suffer from these 2 afflictions, then there probably would be no issue with vote kick because it would always be used justly.

and on your original comment of client stability, i occasionaly get dc-ed and my connection and computer will be able to handle this game until the day it ends. so its not ALWAYS our fault. having said that, there are a lot of potatoes and bad isps out there.

There is a new windows update out, if you haven’t restarted your computer yet to install it your game will crash due to incompatible sound files. The client is perfectly stable.

Edit: My own personal opinion on the deserter debuff is it should be reduced to about 10 min. It is pretty meaningless anyway because if someone really doesn’t want to run a particular dungeon they will switch to an alt and just eat the debuff anyway.

Just happened again today except this time no debuff. I DCed just after the first boss and got kicked, but only an 8 minute wait in dunegon finder, not deserter debuff. That’s much better.

Oh and just DCed again while writing this. Always during busy times is when I get DCed.
