I wish I could kick you off the forums. That would be justified.

Sad when irl life causes you to lash out . Hang in there friend. I will keep you in my prayers.:kissing_heart:

I’ve been kicked once, and that was justified. I was in the Anniversary BG and got an important phone call that went on much longer than I expected and was kicked for being afk.

Aren’t most us more mature WoW players Gen X? Boomers are in their 60s and 70s.

Oh boy this thread escalated quickly with people baiting each other into forum vacation lol  and it’s still cringe to me seeing someone use twitch tv emotes as insults that’s so childish and immature itself I guess some people were right sometimes immature people play on my faction.

Honestly, my experience is very different from yours. No justified kicks? Whenever my groups kick someone it’s because they’re:

  1. AFK
  2. Being very rude
  3. Griefing/trolling on purpose.

Well, I have seen like 1-2 unjustified/meme kicks as well. Once someone vote kicked someone because they were a panda (though you can argue that that was justified) and once I met a group of 3 trolls who kicked the other 2. But that’s two examples. I’ve probably seen hundreds of kicks in total, so the justified kicks are 98-99% of the kicks I’ve witnessed.

There is a time and place for kicking people. Last night I was leveling my DI warlock in AV, and there was two alliance players at graveyard, throwing snoballs to each others. And this was near horde basecamp. Needless to say, we lost that fight, not because of those two but there were others AFKing I am sure

OK if we are judging this by personal experience, here are some examples:-

  • I have seen people kicked for being incredibly toxic to the rest of the group
  • I have seen people kicked for afking
  • I have seen people kicked for disconnecting and not coming back within a reasonable amount of time
  • I have seen people kicked for going off on their own and not working as a group (sometimes this sabotages quest objectives too)
  • I have seen people kicked for not performing the role they queued as
  • I have seen people kicked for RaFing themselves and having the second account on follow
  • I have seen people kicked in the past for needing on every single item that dropped in dungeons (this system no longer exists)

The kick system works on a very simple majority rule basis. One person nominates another and the remaining three vote on the matter. The box you click to remove is slower to activate than the box to keep the player. Kick votes do fail, because people don’t always agree.

The onus is on you as the player not to upset the rest of your team mates while you work your way through a dungeon. If you find yourself kicked a lot you may want to look at how you interact with others. Occasionally people are removed for silly reasons, but on the whole the system is better to have, than to be stuck in dungeons you can’t complete because of bad behaviour by one player.

We are all different as individuals but we are pretty much all in the same basket.

You don’t have to play with impatient people.

Boomer is lost on many and just seen as an insult to throw at someone regardless of their age. Kind of tragic really.

Use more of them please.

…is what a zoomer says the moment he lost an argument.

not on twitch either.

If you say so…

I’ll come to that shortly, but I would add another unjustified kick reason.

“Being from an RP Realm”
I have legit seen that as a reason, regardless of the iLevel or proficiency of the character, and before first contact with mobs. So yeah, there is definitely abuse of the Kick system, though I think it does need to remain in place, because you do get people acting the giddy goat and just sitting there with their thumb up their bum and their brain in neutral.

However. Boomers. Let me tell y’all a story.

Most of you are misusing it. There are precisely two generations who can be called ‘Boomer’.

Okay, so, the Generations go like this.

Traditionalists. AKA ‘The Silent Generation’ born between 1900 and 1945, as a result these are very senior citizens, at their oldest 119, at their youngest 74. Interestingly they are actually -growing- as a demographic, as whilst many of them are already dead, humanity (in affluent countries at least) is developing a longer and longer life expectancy.

Baby Boomers. They can legit be called ‘Boomers’, and are born between 1946, and 1964, as a result these are at their oldest, 73, and at their youngest 55. They get their name from the fact that they were products of the post War euphoria and upswing in birth rates. They are legitimately ‘Boomers’

Generation X, -sometimes- (in the UK) referred to as the ‘Latchkey generation’ or ‘The MTV generation. Born between 1965, and 1980, therefore being aged 54 at oldest, 39 at youngest. Generally thought of as very disaffected, jaded and sceptical, they grew up with the threats of Nuclear War and AIDS, and are the most nihilistic generation to date. They do not class as ‘Boomers’

Generation Y (And this is going to boil a lot of people’s widdle!) AKA 'Millennials’and ‘Echo Boomers’ The generation born between 1981 and 2000. Hence 38 at their oldest, and 19 at their youngest. Very techno Savvy, the sobriquet ‘Echo Boomers’ is that they are the return of the ‘Boomer’ mentality, The worst of the Cold War was over, and we knew how to protect from AIDS, there was a new found ‘Can Do’ attitude, bolstered by a much more widespread availability of technology, as such, childbirth rates increased, just like the original ‘Boomers’

Hate to break it to most of you, but they are named ‘Boomers’, as I guess that generational demographic includes many people here!

Generation Z, AKA Zoomers. The generation post 2000, and not yet defined as over, so basically anyone 18 or younger. It is hard to classify them, as because of their age, they have not yet had a significant impact on the workplace. They do however share some traits with Generation X, as they are not growing up in a Cold War environment, but -are- growing up in a post 9/11, post Terrorism world. These horrible attacks that scandalise people? Thats the world a ‘Zoomer’ is going to just take as a normal risk…

Not according Merriam-webbster dictionary. And its 1st time I hear 1981+ qualifying as boomers as well. So it might be some close-regional slang, but not international definition.

So according to your extensive research I am classified as an Echo boomer  hahaha well I guess we are all boomers then.

Remove kick and introduce afk detector. If dps/heal/tank is performing highly below average then game should kick player automatically. Not only this would be healthy but could make boosting impossible or at least harder.

I dont know how this would work with dying tho…
