Except you dont reliese, the part of the playerbase ur deleting Dont care about Open world Content.
theres no need to delete content just because u dont want to do it, Hint here: Dont do it. I play this game over MMORPG Options because it has a great dungeoneering experience with M+.
No open world Enviroments going to replace that for me, because i play WoW for a loot cycle.
ur mass creating a Raid loggers dream I.E log on twice a week to raid and dont log on inbetween, and no Silly open world events going to change that mentality.
its been tried. GW2 do exactly this.
Open world contents with massive map wide events, with no loot treadmill, u can craft the best gear in the game no problem and Raiding is nothing more then for Enjoyment.
We dont need to be Guild Wars 3.
M+ isnt Elitist either, no more elitist then Heroic raids were back in WoTLK. the issue is, PuGs themselves are elitist, ur getting involved in a Selfish enviroment where everyone is out for themselves and ur expecting a friendly enviroment.
ur mixing the players problem and contents problem up and reaching a complete fallacy,
Join a guild, a Community or make friends, any of these options will make M+ a Non-elitist place realistically, you cant fix PuG player mentality via deleting content.
If u think any of todays content is Elitist, i beg u to go do PvP, u will experience what TRUE toxic and Elitist nature is. because thats all thats going to happen.
u will shift the gear treadmill to PvP, and ur going to have a Dead PvE side of the game for raidloggers, Nobodies going to fly around in happy harmony open world killing silly little monsters for a Day. Not even classic had this.
As u saw when PvP dropped into Classic, Not many rly gave a damn for its PvE nature past that outside of raid logging.
