The thing is, even this is better then what we currently have.
The way the mobs scale automatically with you means even with heritage gear you only get weaker during leveling. Cause even if Heritage gear keeps you on same GS level as the enemy the way how low level attacks hit in is getting less and less per level till max level.
So only with Maxlevel you feel as you had managed to get some growth.
Problem is this is somewhat of a solveing of shorting levelprocess of a so long story because we have many characters that want to get leveled.
Spontanious I only know as answer to let people choose which way with leveling they want to go by choosing either Vanilla, WotLK and maybe TBC & Cata too and when they are max level they can transfer their character to Retail.
But this connection is not wanted by Blizzard either.
The problem was that leveling sped up so much that when you went to a zone like Darkshire and did all the quests you were grey by the end so getting no more xp.
So you either had to give up the story half way through or finish the story for little or no xp.
They had two options.
Scale the world so you could keep getting xp for the whole story.
OR
Widen the range of the questing area so it was really tough when you got there and really easy by the time you left but you still got xp the whole time. Trickier to balance.
They could do both really.
In Chromie Time the zones scale.
Outside of Chromie Time they have set level ranges. The level ranges used to be about 5 levels. They could make it 10 levels which should be long enough to see the story.
i don’t think scaling is bad , just the implementation of it just like you said, in gw2 , your level scales with the area instead of mobs scaling to you so you can level in any area any time and have fun.
I mean it would obviously be part of it; You opt-in for scaling - everyone you group with do too. You opt-out; everyone you group with do too.
And also, the whole “Clear it for you” is quite true today.
A level 10 with heirlooms will make any dungeon EZ-PZ.
Meanwhile, if you play with bad players and no heirlooms - it actually is quite slow and punishing still.
(Tried it today with bf, both of us not using any heirlooms etc and it was horrible with two bad players as tank + healer).
Although the non-Chromie Time world would need some reworking to have specific level ranges like they used to have. Elwynn Forest used to be 10 - 15 and Westfall was 15 - 20 etc.
But these ranges would need to be wider somehow to prevent hitting grey quests and mobs halfway through a story.
They would need at least 10 Level per Area. Tried Leveling through the old Sin’dorei Areas with a new Start Area character that so started arround level 10. My Warlock is now nearly through Ghostlands and already 31. My Mage is now done with Eversong and already 25.
what is point of current leveling system … simply there no anything just waste of time and there is nothing to what u can learn on leveling and there is no any difficulty
I disagree with both sayings. First there is something to learn cause you can slowly start a new class or and not get overloaded with all the abilities.
Second there at the start especially you did it like me and went back to starting area of your race after new starterisland. I went from Lost Reach to Eversong and I leveled 15 levels with no real gearupgrades cause it is not made for stat scaling. Only slowly in Ghostlands I am getting stronger and it will take some time before all my gear has catched up.
