You honestly think a GM could/would look at a DPS summary of the dungeon to determine it was “low enough” to warrant a kick?
In the off chance they’d review such a case it would be instantly labeled as abuse of the votekick system since every queued content is trivial enough that a DK tank can solo it, so having “low DPS” isn’t disrupting the group’s gaming experience, which is the only valid reason to kick someone.
The grey area in these rulings would be wider than the ocean, it would be near impossible to prove malice is involved since people can just play dumb. And most of all, blizz has no real incentive to enact punishment because nobody really cares aside from some angry posters who supposedly know someone who heard of someone who got unjustly kicked.
But if you read the entire comment you would notice I think AI could - based on already defined parameters.
I am not saying the one doing the lowest dps is automatically “low enough” to warrant a kick. I am saying the lowest dps making “x% less dps than the second lowest” is low enough to warrant a kick. And that should be possible to code the AI to find.
Furthermore, a GM is not reviewing that particular case, a GM does not review anything until there are enough cases (10 within a year in my example, but it could be more or fewer in less or more time) and by then they would probably mostly be reviewing the AI’s findings - I don’t expect the GMs to look at all that data, but also they don’t have to bc it’s already there, presented in “B’s dps was within or outside of the margin determined to be acceptable or not acceptable to call ‘low dps’” - in which “low dps” is defined in relation to the rest of the group’s, and only in relation to the two other’s DPS character, not your DK tank and not the healer.
And I don’t intend to prove “malice”, I don’t even assume malice on the initiater’s part, but that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes people are petty and sometimes they’re wrong, and sometimes having to come up with a reason to justify an action stops the petty ones
I was kicked from a dungeon last this week on my mage and I know it was for low damage but it was an alt that I hadn’t used in a long time.
Could I have waited and got to grips with it a bit more before joining? Of course. But I didn’t make a post about it. I just checked out Icy Veins to see how I could perform better and everything went well afterwards.
I still suck at mage though.
