Removing portals - step in right direction?

“Boo-hoo blizzard:(((( Please do not remove portals. I wanna keep playing “Portals of Casuals” instead of World of Warcraft” ~ pet collecting casual 2k19

Finally a step into right direction! As a mage main I cannot wait for tons of whispers “portal pls”!

There are many great zones in the game and they were abandoned years ago. We’re playing MMO game and jumping into portals doesnt really feel like I’m playing World of anything. Great decision, keep it up.

But what about the portal room?

They cannot remove every single portal in the game with one patch.
We need to get used to using different routes etc.

What a useless Thread.

oh dont be mean!
I checked the other thread and people dont know how to communicate nowadays. Instead of asking “hey blizz do you have any idea on how we are supposed to get to caverns if you remove portals?” they start conversation with “oh great another great decision activision. please learn to develop games blah blah”

dude pls we’re on blizzard forums. its always been like that. have a nice day!

Many of us already spent a lot of time in those zones when they were current content. There is nothing left to do there.

Did you read the response that removed IF/TB portals are an oversight that will get fixed ?

Cmon to hell with order halls or CoT, but did you seriously forgot 2 capital cities? How do you “oversight” 2 playable race ?

You aren’t great at the communication thing. “People who disagree are pet battling casuals. el oh el”

I mean most of the top pet collectors are pretty well established players, with really good accounts. Dwarfing yours by big margins. I doubt they’ll be bothered by a few portals

You on the otherhand, want them removed because you want attention.

Dear me, how sad.

please dont hurt my pets.

Lmfao you think you do when you open up your thread with this?

On topic: eventhough older continents look fantastic, they’re practically dead since theres 0 end content to do there. Even the ones who visit them, do that cause theres somewhere a dungeon that drops a mount or out of pure curiosity, a.k.a exploration craves. In other words: if i wanna explore, ill explore anyway! Removing the portal wont force me to do so! It will only make things slower and more annoying in case i wanna farm nearby dungeons!

My 2 cents. Much love,
a 2k19 filthy casual pet collector.

Fixed for you …

Why would i be offended, its only words on a page.

People can have conversations without taking offence to everything, its part of communicating like a normal person.

You dont have to pay me for the tip about communication i just gave you.

he’s a pR0 gAmeR, he flys from one destination to the other, only special kind do that.
you thought going 3k rating in pvp and getting hall of the fame from raiding was “elite” thing? nah.
its about travel!! all pro kids travel on their horse from point A to point B. that’s what being elite player is all about!

I just wonder why some players thing that the removal of portals would make dead zones more inhabitated? Everyone would still just go from point A to B and they would not pay attention to the surroundings, if they’ve never cared about exploration, this won’t make them to do it.

I’m really interested in the players that are in favor of removing these portals. Do you find being AFK on a flight path to be engaging and immersive game play? Do you think going up in the air and pointing your mouse in a direction is a vital and integral part of what made WoW so popular during the golden age (TBC-Wrath)?
Do you think having to spend 3 extra minutes of time traveling to CoT makes people appreciate the raids and dungeons there more?

What is more interesting to you, having 5 different routes to a location or only 1? Taking away portals is removing player agency and choice, not increasing it. It dumbs down getting to somewhere in the world because not only are there less options, the remaining options all take longer.

How exactly does punishing the players who enjoy doing old world content regularly make players want to do it more? Or maybe you are of the opinion that as soon as an expansion is over there’s no reason to ever go back and play through it again?

Yaaay! Can’t wait to press Num Lock to auto flight while I wait to arrive to my destination. Such immersion, totally “feels like playing World of Warcraft”!

There is plenty of content in the old zones, can’t wait to fly above them- world will certainly look bigger!

/sarcasm off

Blizzard continuously forces pruning of certain game elements just to increase time played metric, and this decision is only a confirmation of such policy.
