Removing World Buff = Zero sense of Community

World Buff force players to create community and force players to interact with each others.

Why Classic was successfull even if Raid Content was very easy ? Because there’s thing to do outside of raid, taking your buffs, looking at your server Discord, take a revenge from someone that made your raid rude and gank him while he take buffs, and then counter revenge, … World Buffs add some unique spice to the game that never happened in later expansion.

World Buff is the reason why there’s many big battle in Classic. This is a unique feature of Classic that SHOULD NOT be removed because the main reason why player like Classic is because you have a sense of community. Imagine a Classic without any battle on Kargath or Felwood ? Imagine a Classic where all high level zone are empty and fed with bots or real player that farm herb and ore. Nobody want that. Chronoboon helped many people to take buffs, removing World Buff is to much honestly.

Not to mention the fact that World Buff make PvP Ranking possible with World PvP only. Sure, it’s way harder than doing Battleground only, but you can do it. Without World Buff, I doubt there’s enough player outdoor to do World PvP, and you know the point : Lot of Classic experience and good memory happen in World PvP.

If you want to make the content harder, tune the content for world buff. And for the most hardcore player, they can clear without buffs if they want more challenge.

Think about TBC 2mn and you’ll understand why they should NOT remove buff. The TBC World is mostly empty because the player base raid log and don’t have any activity to do outside raids. What you see is bot and people in mount that farm ore and herbs …

You can write whatever you want. People on the PTR are having fun and don’t care about your whining.

I mean, people raid logged a lot in classic as well?

The main part I hated about world buffs was keeping track of your discord for when ZG/Onyxia popped.
Probably the worst part about it.

And classic is going to be a lot less popular due to it.
They don’t even compensate the lack of loot return for a lot less time for the raids.

If they limit botting it will be even “less popular”. Classic had problems and now repeating same mistakes just to “include” problematic behavior isn’t the way.

Why is it that most people arguing vs. world buffs are retail characters

Maybe even bring profession alts to the mix?

We all can do that.

Stop advocating for sucking the soul out of the game.

Interesting. Achievement points is pr character.

Or maybe it’s not. This one seems to high :ocean:

I got 10 more. Is this a competition?

I guess this is the one the kids would listen the most to.

Why is a TBC avatar arguing for World Buffs when they are not relevant in TBC?

The “World buff” community is a surefire way of bunching up everyone who really have no business playing WoW anymore. It’s a community that 100 % overlaps with the “Make old macros work again because we want to break the game” community or the “It’s fine using WoW as a side hustle because unemployment doesn’t pay that well” community.

Being tied to logging in and out, waiting for timers and avoiding any interaction with the opposite faction is not a community building feature. World buffs gives an incentive to hide and log out, it’s anti-vanilla at best.

Felwood and ZG island will still be hotspots for pvp. Felwood for whipper roots, rune farm and herbs. ZG island because turn ins + almost every raider will visit it due to 1h pot.

I get why people prefer having them in the game though, therefore I pledge my support for realms with them enabled. But the arguments that world buffs will save SoM or that the majority of players want them this time around are baseless.

Not true. I’m arguing vs. world buffs because of how it is used. Which is far from how it was used in vanilla. I Played Retail 2004-2007. After that, 2-3 months in the past 14 years.

not once did i raidlog and i showed up with head/heart/dmt every time. most often also with a songflower and dmf when it was avail. well organized executions of this made it trivial. the roughest part was the travel from menethil to dm.

u are gonna have fun until u reach a point where you’ll start to raiding.

and once ppl starts to wipe on molten core for hours players gonna cry about why they’re not being carried and gonna quit 1 by 1.
