Repair and transmog cost

can we as a community band together and agree the cost of transmog and repair is actually insane? why do we pay for transmog at all there is so many other gold sinks.
repair cost needs to be a fraction of what it is, playing the game is becoming unaffordable unless you farm gold or buy tokens.

I agree, especially with the repair costs.

We also dont have other ways of countering them. The game dose not offer repair kits or a scrulls that gives u a buff reduction costs on repairs/transmog.

A handful of world quest covers all repair and Tmog costs for the expansion.

If fashion is that important just roll with the Void Elves?

fully agree with OP and have been of this position for years.

If it helps players for now until “hopefully” they remove the cost, if you have BS lvl 2 with a follower in your WoD garrison, you can get 4 hour buff for no durability damage to your items.

for the expac ? i spent 200k gold in a matter of 3 months kinda on repair costs lol , im a guild officer so the guild pay for the repair , so i could see how much money i spent , and its literally 200k thats crazy , if you want free free repairs you need professions for you gear , but its gonna take like probably months and months of knowledge point farming.

Yeah, I just did my transmog to restore my usual one (I’d picked up some new pieces recently). 553g which to just restore my usual mog after a few rewards does feel unnecessarily high.

I think a full set mogging should be around 100g.

No. We’ve removed so many rpg factors already, there needs to be some things that make it an mmo instead of effectively a moba or auto battler

It’s about the levels of cost rather than them being there at all.
Some transmog cost is fine but getting near 1000g for a full mog is just not tuned well.

And some repairs to prevent too much corpse dragging in game is fine but again repair bills are well over 1000g if you use res sickness.

1000g used to be the cost of flying license and took a while to save us. To me that still feels like quite a lot of gold, in a purely immersive RPG feeling it isn’t set at the right level.

Transmog should cap out a 100g
Repairs should cap out at 500g

That’s fair. Cost do seem to get exponentially higher. I used to buy a token every 3 or 4 months. Now it’s every month or so

I understand the need of gold sinks existing but some costs like OP mentioned affect some players way more than others.

The reason I have gold this expansion is because I took advantage of the mad token inflation when the new AH mount was announced. I mostly raid log and run keys, and very little otherwise “profitable” content.

In regards to t-mog, why isn’t there a “sticky tmog” option yet? It would incredibly useful especially whilst levelling when we swap gear pieces every 5 minutes. Essentially just make a tmog permanent. Charge gold only you actually want to change the “perma mog”.

Repair costs is something that always bugged me in all games of the genre, it seems to be such a given staple. Dying and not getting a reward is already a loss, why add a cost to it? You could say it can have gameplay implications, but with the existence of repair bots, mounts etc these aforementioned reasons get diminished to just a nuisance and a gold sink.

Want to keep these costs? Fine but at least consider adding more gold rewards to:

  • killing raid bosses
  • timing keys

I’m not saying drown us in gold, but come on, 50 gold for timing a key? Wiping 100+ times on a mythic boss progress racks up a pretty high bill too!

make a void elf problem solved for transmog cost

do other content that takes less time and you earn enough gold to easily take the bill

Just have naked transmog out of protest lets see how long it takes they fix it.

Being naked transmog cost nothing.

Guess you completely missed this part:

Some people genuinely don’t have time to play let alone do what is essentially “maintenance sessions”. When I play this game, I want to play the aspects of it that I like. If I happen to have extra time then I’ll do some WQ and sell some ores I picked up on the AH, that’s it. Time here is a very important key word.

This is a terrible “argument” too. Maybe you’re ok with min maxing characters based on racial abilities, but most of us would rather play the race we like.

Don’t you get it? It is intentional. Blizz wants you to buy the WoW token.
Sub price increase would be too much of a fuzz, even mainstream media would pick up on that. So they just force you to buy the WoW token. Microsoft spent 69 billion dollars on the acquisition, investors want to see returns.

If the transmog would be assigned to the item slot, and not straight to the item it would be so much better…

It’s fine… the game throws gold at you plus things vendor for a lot.

1.There are at least 2 dailies per day that gives provide 800+ gold each.
2. Bi-weekly world quests (the ones you have to unlock by completing 3 other wq’s) provide quite a hefty amount of gold as well.
3. Especially during the anniversary event we’re drowning in trash epics selling for 50+gold each, let alone the rest of the WQ items we get and actual trash items a worth a lot.
Up until now (since the start of the expansion) I’ve got more than 125 k gold on at least 2 characters.
Unless you change mog every 5 minutes for reasons unknown, you should be like Scrooge McDuck and be swimming in a pool of gold coins…

To me it seem the repair costs vs the gold rewards at the end of dungeons and raid boss kills is where the problem lays. Repair costs have increased yet these rewards have barely gone up over the years. They not in the correct ratios because of world quests etc. It’s assumed every player does everything in the game to ensure they have sufficient gold for repairs. I pity the pure PvP players though they got it worse.

I don’t have an issue with the t-mog costs. I mean if you have a set of gear and t-mog and pay its done. The only time you should be paying again is when you change a piece and want it to match your mog. It’s like going to the tailor with one item and asking them to alter it to match the rest of the set. The alteration wont be free.

Just had a 1448g repair (not long after a 600g repair).

I’m trying (poorly) to do the scenario to defeat Xalatath. I’ve been falling off the side into the dark and it’s not good at letting you get back to your corpse. So I’ve had to res sickness twice. I’ve had to leave the scenario as well which means I’ll have to start over and die again lots and pay more gold.
horrible scenario, which doesn’t need this level of gold punishment on top of all this faffing around trying to find my way around death mazes.
