Reputation turns out to not be account wide after all
I, as many I believe, thought Ian said that reputation would be account wide
Apperantly that was a mis-understanding, so apperantly they didnt listen after all…

I wasn’t aware it was ever intended to be account wide. I must have missed that.
I was just pleased that we weren’t going to be tied to any particular dragon faction like we were with covenants.

It know off account wide Renown but that’s about it… I prety much followed all the interviews, must’ve missed that?

It probably was on a previous beta build.
We’ve seen things on betas that players like that they later change. Like I remember you could buy all the different armour ensembles on any character and then they changed it. We all thought it was going to be really farming friendly.
But the OP said “I believe Ion said”.
That makes me think he actually said it straight up, which I doubt he did .
Either way, they can always return on their words, no problems 
I am still waiting the announcing off their “new” borrow powers

I remember reputations being asked to be account wide i dont remember hearing they were going to be account wide tho

Would be nice tbh. A lovely finishing touch on DF to bring it in, end the beta on a pure win realistically.
Think blizzard need to get over this weird fear of theirs we will all suddenly unsub the moment they add these sorts of features, but lack the reliesation to why we want it.
We are far more likely to unsub earlier if making alts is too inconvinent.
I read somewhere just a minute ago on the DF Beta forums ppl said the Reputation Rewards will be (or ment to become) account wide.
Like the re-usable ZM Augment rune for example.

Account-wide reputations should be possible throught addons and I think I could make such type of addon, just account-wide achievements in Classic and shared achievements between classic and retail have been possible with addons.
But account rewards are another different thing. I could make an addon that shows in your UI a reputation at exalted level if one character of your account is exalted but nothing else.
Would be nice, I would even settle for it only applying to older expansions.

The Important thing really.
I don’t care that my 100 Exalted reps achievement was done over a bunch of characters. But I’m not grinding a faction six times so I can buy all the profession recipes just for completeness sake (or maybe as a mog).
I agree with Puny this could be done for legacy expansions.

Then you should focus more on asking Blizzard to change what you actually really want, the rewards, because making that account-wide seems easier to do than changing all the faction system to work account-wide instead of character-wide, something that seems as hard as the change for cross-faction content given the game was made from the beginning to have the faction system based on character data only.
An account-wide reputation instead at top of the character system would be great, and that would indirectly make all rewards account-bound, but changing all the reputation rewards to be account-bound should be easier given that account-bound items exist now, while account-bound reputations don’t.
Here Ian is asked directly what will be account wide and the answer is
“Everything except gear and other character personal rewards”

OP probably mixed rep with the accwide renown we get for DF, but might be wrong here.
That said I’m not against it, or at least making the important rewards BoA (like the head and shoulder enchs in Classic!)
