I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue I encountered upon my return to World of Warcraft Classic.
In 2019/20, I took a hiatus from WoW Classic and recently decided to re-immerse myself in the game. Prior to my break, my intention was to play on a Level 60 server, as I thoroughly enjoyed the classic experience at that level. However, upon logging back in, I was surprised to discover that my characters have been automatically transferred to a Level 80 server.
As a passionate player, I invested a significant amount of time and effort into meticulously gearing my character to optimize my gameplay experience at Level 60. It was disheartening to find that my progress has become obsolete on the current server I find myself on, where the level cap is 80. The accomplishments and achievements I earned at Level 60 now feel devalued and insignificant.
Therefore, I kindly request your support in transferring my characters back to a true classic server that upholds the Level 60 limit. I believe this transfer will allow me to fully enjoy the gameplay and rekindle the sense of accomplishment I experienced before my break. I deeply appreciate your understanding of my situation and the effort it may take to fulfill this request.

They have not been transferred. The whole server they were on got upgraded, along with everything on it, including your characters. That is what happens when expansions are released.
This is not possible. Your characters on the level 80 server are completely different and incompatible with the level 60 server, even if they did not take a single step after the upgrade (completely different skill trees for one, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg).
Right now your only option is to start playing from scratch. The good news is that the servers are currently very much alive, with players busy in all level brackets, so no problems finding guilds and groups.
That said, I’ve contacted a GM before and he told me that this is a matter up to the jurisdiction of the development team and that I should use this forum to reach out to them, so I am pretty sure that this in fact is possible and can be done on a case by case basis based on the development team’s individual decision.
I dont think any of the blizzard staff really gives a fudge what us europeans want or say.
Sadly you missed the boat but now its the perfect time to start over.
Do not confuse the response “contact development team” with “it is possible”.
What the GM told you is just his standard response to any issue that is outside of the scope of what he can help you with.
