It should be a standard 5 gold per respec if your going to charge anything at all. I am new to this game and want to try different specs that I like. Running around to try to afford 25 gold (current cost) is ridiculous for a game I pay to play, only to find you need a different one for different game play.
To play this game includes respecing talents, and your system is stopping me from playing even though i have payed to do so. Needing to find specs that one feels good with, also that one might need to change to different game play etc - is of massive import to progress in this game.
Seriously wow - you dont need to do much to make this a great game, respec costs is one thing you seriously should look at. One other thing is making high end recipes bind on pick up - this is ridiculous and stops non raiding players from getting vital high end recipes.
Change these two things and you might have a game that i can stick around in… dont and im not so sure I can.
This literally doesn’t mean anything at all. I also pay to play the game, does that mean I deserve to be gifted a free level 60 of every class so I can try them out? Does it mean I’m entitled to get every piece of gear that I want?
use online talent calculators to theorycraft new talent speccs. Try to stick with 1 specc if possible, if you swap frequently (i repsecc once before and once after raids) then ensure you have an income that can support that.
I kind of agree.
On one hand as a healer and casual player it is really demotivating to live in constant fear and unable to farm because i am pretty much defenseless in PvP situations. I can’t afford a pocket warrior to protect me I can’t afford 2x50g a week just to spec-respec for raids.
On the other hand it is a nice gold sink for people who can afford it.
It would be really nice to have an alternative system like tokens in D2.
You can use discipline spec for pvp and pve. There are hybrid builds for all classes that provide decent pvp and pve utility without need to respec weekly
Well, lets be honest ladies and gentleman. 50G is quite steep for respecs when capped out. Its alot. Dont think anyone would argue so far.
So if you want to play multiple specs on 1 character and change it to what you like to do. Example. you wanna do some pvp, you spec pvp. then some farming. Get a DPS build. Then your guild needs you for MC to tank. there we go again. If that is what you do, you only play for your respec cost.
One can like it or not. That is how it goes.
It is probably easier to just level alts of the same class and gear them up a little. Unless your Gold income allows it somehow.
It is as it is. Deal with it or don’t play it. But don’t say it must be changed. Nobody is going to change the game just because you (nobody) don’t like it.
Respec costs are one of the few things that drain gold from this game.
When I say drain, I mean deleted from the game. Classic doesn’t have many gold sinks, it shouldn’t remove the ones it already has because you don’t like them.
The max respec cost is 50g. That means it’ll cost you 100g per week if you want to raid. 50g to swap to your raid spec, you then clear the available raids, then pay another 50 to jump back into your PVP spec.
I can’t afford 2x50g a week just to spec-respec for raids.
