Respeccing needs to be cheaper

Can the respec cost be removed or capped at 10 gold or something? I’m not entirely eager to pay 100 gold per week to swap between arcane power frost bolt spec and regular deep frost spec if I want to play with my semi-hardcore friends.
Before I get burned, yes, I’m a shiny pink glasses wearing retail player, lets be friends.

Thank you.

Isn’t it capped at 50?

no having an actual barrier to just respeccing all the time is important, it prevents most from constantly respeccing to min max like on retail. (those in hardcore guilds well they still do so at a cost which is the way it should be, want to min max? pay for it)

10 gold is a joke

Naturally, but I am respeccing into arcane frost and then back, coz arcane-frost is a dead spec outside of raids

@Sweetdemise
I can agree to 25gold cap at most. Beyond that is ridiculous imho.

You’d expect this kind of request to come from a hybrid class , not a freakin mage lol.

How does it make a difference? In both cases you hinder yourself. You think arcane-frost can do anything in the open PVP world besides camping the auction house?

Do you really have to max out for a low tier raid? Stay deep frost and be happy.

Posts like that should be instantly deleted. You are asking for something that was a feature in Vanilla to be different in Classic just because YOU think it would be better.

lul, make a new char different spec  thats how u did it back then
stop the whine
i remember it had no cap at start and was duplicative even
meaning it would go way beyond 100g
50g is nothing

This is something that directly affects gameplay, unlike paid appearance changes.

The relationship is that as the cost is higher, the more meaningful your spec is. It’s high so that you can’t keep changing it. But there so your choices aren’t set in stone forever.

In my opinion 50 gold is a fine cap. It means your spec actually matters and you can’t do everything at the flick of a switch. It makes your choices special and meaningful. It’s actually a good thing.

50 gold is nothing, and as a Mage you can easily grind that together.

50 gold is nothing and iirc it decays to 15. So it is actually 15 gold. The game need gold sinks for a healthy economy.

Meaningful spec? Are you kidding me? What is so meaningful when you basically choose between 3-4 cookie cutter builds, which are renowned for being the most optimal and never changed for 15 years?

I can grind things, true, oh well, ok, thank you for replies guys.

everyone hated the cost back in vanilla and wanted it lowered. the price for respec trapped many people within just 1 build and they could not experiment or have as much fun with their chars as they wanted to.

This is a complaint that I have some sympathy for when it comes to tanks and healers. Dps though… It’s not a big deal. You don’t need an optimized raid spec for Vanilla raids, and you especially don’t need one for Classic raids. The only reason to truly optimize would be to win damage meters, and while I like winning damage meters too it’s not a good justification for change.

Actually high respec costs are great for experimentation because you are more inclined to make some non-optimal builds just to save money when switching between pvp and pve.

Sounds extremely unappealing to play sub-optimal spec to be honest.

The game isn’t balanced around min-maxing specs, if you do more than one thing then find a good compromise spec. And now all of a sudden many talents choices start making more sense.

It is also unappealing to be walking on foot instead of going on a mount. That is exactly what motivates you to get rich in this game. Flight paths cost money, gear repairs cost money, respec costs a lot of money.

And yeah, after this post it’s clear the thread is just a cheap wind up attempt.
