Come on…he is not dead…His soul just left this current body. Soul is immortal and eternal.
Thank you for letting us know. I can help him.
If you really wish to HELP him, stop grieving and sorrow JUST send him best positive energies and joy of your wonderful memories with him.
Good luck Brigante.

60 years, give or take is how long we humans live, some dedicate that to being nice to people, and Brigante was definitely one of those people.
There is a lesson in people dying earlier than they are supposed to, and that is our time may end at any moment abruptly, we have to use it wisely and make the best of it.
My interactions with Brigante were brief, but colorful. He inspired me to be more thoughtful before talking, and to detail my thoughts until they become long paragraphs, and I thoroughly did enjoy reading his long paragraphs and to produce long ones of my own, rest in peace friend.

Reposting from the Memorial thread:
Hiya all. Last post before I sleep.
Firstly: Yes, we will be looking to stream the event. Either I will do so myself, or I’ll have someone on hand to do so for me. Computers are tricky.
Secondly: We felt Saturday was the best time as Saturdays tend to have the best turn outs, at least judging from past campaigns, social events, and general opinion when we initially threw out a couple of dates. Many apologies for those who aren’t able to attend - we went with what we feel to be the best option and sadly neither De’vontae nor I tend to be available Sundays anyway.
Thirdly: We are looking at the logistics of bringing non-AD folk over to our server and will do our best to make it happen. This will require letting us know you wish to attend beforehand so that we can arrange this for you.
I ask for your understanding at this time - it has been an emotional and tiring day for me. I will more than likely have a better answer once I’ve slept. Thank you to everyone who has shared memories of Brigante so far.

Why do the best ones get taken first…?
This game needs more like Brigante; not necessarily in respect of RP, but the general way he approached the game… as a game & not a vessel to harbour and foster vitriol as many seem to do.
Sunwell nourish you in passing, as it did in life, noble Elf…

Omg - how terrible & sad, Brigante RIP hun xx
I didn’t know the guy beyond the forum. But, you get the impression he was one of the few here who deeply cared about exploring the lore, with a tact for weaving in historical examples as a benchmark for comparison during debates and discussions too. In the few interactions I’d had with him, he always took the time to give a thoughtful reply to a given topic. A true world builder and scholar who now ventures beyond the mortal veil.

its been hours after i heard of his passing and i still cant really comprehend it. i went on a stroll earlier and tried to think of at least one of Brigs stories that wasnt interesting, funny or i didnt like.
there simply is none, i thoroughly enjoyed all of them. how the hell did he do that?
i guess reality settles in now that i will never be able to hear another of his fantastic, silly stories ever again…
im sure even Black Frank the vulture sheds a tear…

Briggy was one of the legendary ones, he never had a dull story and always had a good spirit, Bwomsandi had gained an amazing person.

This is such a sad and crazy thing… one moment someone is a living person, you agree and disagree, you like them or not, they speak of their life experience, their hopes, wishes, desires, their disappointments and their less fortunate moments… and then, the next moment, they are gone and there is nothing left.
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend’s were.
Each man’s death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
, said the great English poet John Donne, and quoting him seems all the more fitting given that from the little I know of him, Brigante’s fondness for his country does come to mind.
It would seem the bells toll for thee, Brigante. Rest in peace.

Sometimes you see a post you think…this needs a Brig response. Sometimes you see a Brig post you think…this will need a cuppa and more time than I’d anticipated spending reading on the forum. His posts were frequently of epic proportion, well articulated and usually informative whether you agreed with the general themes or not. If he had a point to make, he made it exquisitly well. It’s an odd thing when you don’t really know someone but you sorta do from your online engagement with them, or at least know that aspect of them.
Those epics will be missed drops.

What an awful thing to read, I thought the forums had been quiet of his words. I never dreamed it was because of such ill health.
Rest in peace, Brigante. Your name will be remembered by all who had contact with you. The Argent Dawn community can be a vicious place at times, but I doubt there are many that won’t remember you with fondness or a smile.
Fly high, fly strong.

Ceran reminded us today that it was Brigante that came up with the name for our forum based community

I thought he had been quiet of late, sorry to hear the sad news.
There is a saying about ‘only the good die young, while the rest are left to improve’. From the comments in this thread, a good person has left and will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Brigante.

@Leafkettle: Thank you for posting this!
@All: I only knew Brigante through his forum posts. Even so, I am saddened to read the news of his passing away. He was even more fond of walls of text than I am and that says a lot. More importantly, those long posts were generally both informative and funny, sometimes simultaneously.
My deepest condolences to his lady friend, family and friends across EU and even beyond.
Rest in peace, Brigante! snaps into attention, salutes On behalf of myself and others, thank you for all that you did!

Didn’t know him outside of this forum, but his posts were always worth reading, and it will be weird not to ‘have him around’ any more.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Thanks for letting us know.

I hope this doesn’t come as disrespectful, but does any of his closest friends know if he might have appreciated a NPC named after him or one of his characters? Could the community possibly ask Blizzard that they implement that as a memento?
To be placed in a location of his liking, for friends to come visit and sit close by for a thought and silent farewell in case they desired to.
Just saying because I would like that for myself, were bad things to happen to me.

I remember Brigante during the most active days of my SMC rp on my OC as well as RP on Horde with my alts.
Interactions with him were always chill. was it RP or OOC (which were rare) they always left me with a feeling of ‘‘This is definitely one of those people who are one of the less seen pillars of community connection.’’
And indeed well he was that.
I wish to his relatives and friends a condolence at the loss
To him I say the words of my OC he uses for farewells:
‘‘May your path traveled be safe and the end destination warm and well receptive.’’

I doubt Blizzard would implement that as they don’t often do it for other well-known community members who have died. Then again, it’s not entirely unheard of…depends how much traction it gained from the community. I think it’s a nice gesture but not one that will come to fruition.
