I have enormous respect for this perfect example of british gentelmen.
I still cant process that wont read his brilliantly put long story posts.
I had no ideaā¦ very sad news. Iāve met him in game and enjoyed all his forum postsā¦ especially the long ones. I have lost count of the time I would see āBrigante is typingā¦ā for nearly half an hour whilst he composed the most epic of replies.
A very sad loss. RIP Brigante.
Yup, itās raining all right.
This. So totally this.
I had been missing his feedback of late, and I know I am going to miss his āvoiceā on this forum, even though I barely knew him at all. Such a charming personality!
I canāt even begin to imagine the loss for his family and friends.
I am so sorry.
Canāt say I knew him outside of the occasional forum encounter, but I can say that his posts were always unmistakably his. Wherever heās gone, they for sure will have a lot of reading to do over there.
RIP
Rest in peace, Brigante.
Never heard of the guy but a lost community member saddens us all.
Rest well wherever youāre at now.
Oh, this is such sad news. I knew he was very ill, but didnāt realise just how close he was to the end. We shared a few Gen-X kids recollections on these forums over the years, and I will miss his presence here.
The way he embraced life in his remaining time after his diagnosis sets an example to us all.
āI wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
āSo do I,ā said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.ā
My condolences to those close to him.
I just read Briganteās New years thread and could not hold my tears anymore
Gotta quote Yoda here:
Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not.
OK, itās not the whole quote, but it works so well.
It is okay to feel bad about this, Leroch. Crying can give some relief. Talk if you feel the need to.
Terrible news. I knew he was sick but figured heād have more time ahead. He certainly was a presence on the server and on the forums, not shy to voice his opinions and share stories. One of a kind, for sure.
Iām so upsetā¦ I didnāt expect it to be this soon. No more historical rants or brilliant english word mash ups.
Join the ceremony next Saturday. We all can do something nice to remember him.
Theyād told him 2 years
Although prior to that, all he knew was āsoonā. Heās talked about it a little here and there for a while now, and Iāve never seen someone with such calm, zen-like composure throughout. Never seemed to regret any of his past, even the things that set him on this course. Perhaps because without them, he wouldnāt have gotten to the surroundings he was in near the end.
He has been an example of calm acceptance of inevitability, and living for each day as it comes. I hope that when my time on earth comes to an end, I will have half as much wisdom and peace.
