Instead of nerfing Resto Druid I say buff and make the rest decent to be competitive with Resto Druid.
Sadly that would inevitably lead to overwhelming homogenization, cos you know…rdruid has the tools of every other class combined.
Imo restrict rdruids a bit, let other druid specs have some tools that are unavailable to rdruids, which in turn makes other healers viable.
I understand but I keep reminding of MoP class design, classes weren’t the same yet they had many skills are were balanced. Sure some of the same role were better than others in X situations but everyone was so great on their own that you wouldn’t really pick X class cuz ‘‘better’’, you’d just pick you liked best and success.
I agree that mop class design was the best overall, and I deeply wish next expansion will take a step in that direction. We’ll see

Well, how would you wanna nerf resto? Everyone can heal, resto has mad utility + good damage and is kinda tanky.
IMO to bring other healers back they should add utility to other healers but I can only talk about the m+ side of the game.
I havent done any pve until late legion, so my view of mop is solely based on pvp.
Still, you have to make a distinction between actual design and numbers tuning. I liked mop because every class had a lot of tools and it was very easy to tell people apart even in 1v1 situations. In the current game a 1700 caliber dh can easily beat 2500 caliber players of less fortunate classes/specs.
When you have some class which is dominating in some content over all others which can play the same role for a long time and when that class can do almost everything the other classes do but even better because it has the tools for that and with much less effort than you know how you have problematic class design.
Ultimately they are the best HOT healers, with great mobility, great tankyness and insane utility.
One of these needs to be removed to have balance. e.g. by all means have good tankyness and hots but you should be really immobile.

How would they go about it without affecting them in raids etc. Since they’re kinda middle of the pack when it comes to raiding the last time I checked. I do understand that they’re very potent in PVP and M+/dungeons though.
Tranq has a bonus that only works in dungeons. Apparently blizz CAN apply changes to specific classes and specs for certain types of content.
didnt they also apply a specific nerf to tranq in raids? sometime during the first few weeks of BOD?
They recieved a nerf in 8.2 and 8.1.5 iirc
I don’t know why Healing Tide Totem or Divine Hymn doesn’t receive the same bonus Shamans already are in trash can
Yup. We said that from the first month in BFA
Shamans got from cooldown-kings in legion to no cd at all.
We had ancestral guidance - removed,
We had healing tide totem - doing nothing in bfa
We had spirit link totem + gift of the queen combi - gift of the queen is gone.
We are not even supposed to play with Ascendance anymore.
Left; 0 cooldowns and also no flexible efficient single target healing because Tidal Crashes (double tidal waves on riptide) is gone.
