Who here uses the RestedXP (RXP) Addon?
I’ve been using Zygor and Dugi guides for a long time, and both are solid choices. But a few days ago, I stumbled upon this highly-praised RXP Addon that claims to deliver ultra-fast leveling. Naturally, I decided to give it a shot.
So far, it’s been a frustrating experience. None of the level brackets I’ve tried seem to work properly for me. I’m currently mid-level and trying to find a guide for my level range, but here’s the problem:
- Every single guide I’ve tried (5 out of 5 times) starts with quests I don’t have or can’t pick up unless I had completed a previous quest chain specific to their guide’s route. This makes jumping into the guide at any mid-section completely impossible, which is incredibly disappointing.
- I’ve tested it across multiple level ranges (10, 20, 30), and it’s the same issue each time—the guide assumes I’ve done rare or obscure questlines to access follow-up quests.
- The routes often require insane amounts of travel and are full of unnecessary side quest distractions. Even worse, the so-called “fast leveling guide” frequently asks me to level up professions like First Aid or other irrelevant things. If I wanted to level up professions, I’d look for a dedicated profession guide—not something that wastes my time in a leveling guide!
Am I missing something here, or is this addon just overhyped garbage? Would love to hear if anyone else has had a better experience or if I’m just not using it correctly.

In any case, the best guide is yourself, taking your own route, according to your desires, without being guided by a brainless addon.

Idk hordes side or if they updated it recently.
But i used it on hc servers 1-2 years ago and it was pretty solid i would say.
But i do agree that ypu need to use ur brain a little on some places and skiip certain quests it suggests.
For exampel the gem quest for alliance in ashenvale which is like 1% drop rate.
Also some proffesions make sense in the guide like bs in begining for melees beacuse of grinding stones on weqpons.
But i do not use rexp anymore. I enjoy doing my own thing.
I used RXP addon to level one character. It was incredible speed, but ultimately I removed that character at level 38 because I felt it was not mine representation in the game, I felt like puppet and I didn’t like the feeling. My achievements must be mine. So I started over and leveled in a proper way. I spent like 15 days /played to level to 60, so not very efficient I guess, but I’m OK with that, don’t want to trade efficiency for identity.
But yeah, RXP is very fast and efficient if that’s what you want. They took into account every little thing. I didn’t try to pick up leveling at mid levels, though, I used it from level 1. Profession thing that you’re talking about is optional, when you’re waiting for a ship, you can level first aid, that’s called efficiency, you’re doing two things at once, clever, isn’t it?
I disagree. Addons like Zygor help u to save time and level faster. Just if you never used any of them you possible can not know.
That’s not what I’m saying, I just deplore the massive use of addons for everything when it is much more pleasant to be free and to make your own leveling route without being guided like a laboratory rat .
Then I understand, you have to be able to read more than two lines of text without having a headache.
Thats failing the topic though big time.
Addons help you to save time. If you dont want to save time then there is not need to discuss the issues of an addon thats suppose to help you level faster.
The paid portion of the addon is RMT and it should be banned tbh.

- To follow the fastest guide and route, you have to FOLLOW that guide from lvl1. It does not work great when you’ve skipped questlines because they are mandatory for a nice and smooth leveling route. This is classic.
- If the route says you should have done it - you should have done it for the fastest pace.
- This route is THE FASTEST for solo, First Aid and Cooking provide many extra quests. You don’t waste time leveling them, because you do so while taking a boat, tram or stuff like that.
TLDR: It’s the fastest route for 1-60. If you don’t follow the route - you should not use it and it’s not for you.
While following this route on hardcore first time ever alliance, I got to 60 in 4 days played. Yes it might suck when there’s a lot of competition, but leveling sucks in this case either way
Thanks but yes, thats exactly what I was getting at. RXP seems to be a level 1-60 guide that does not allow or tolerate the slightest abrivation. And a guide that does start with a quest you can not take, cause you did not did a quest before he is NOT telling you is a bad guide.

I got the answer I wanted to. Seems a lot of new players also dont know anything and only see what marketing shows them. Seems like RXP does a lot of marketing and therefore people use it anyway even when Zygor or Dugi are also making u go from 1-60 in 4 days.
Saw some youtube videos who tested it and Zygor is as good as any other. Just there you can jump in at any level.
Not everyone is so stupid and plays this game to be efficient.
Mostly everyone who plays it since day1 and now has kids a family and a job and not all the time in the world does play it to be efficient.
This is why I like TBC, Wrath and so on. Your leveling in zone D does not depend on some 10 chain quests from zone A,B,C.
For example Videre Elixir questline in Winterspring that basically gives you a full level worth of XP, you have to travel 4 different zones and do strange things.
Can you skip this quest? Sure, but then you’ll have to grind mobs for 1 level instead or spam dungeons
Should make it that no matter where you are the zones adapt to your level. Then you could level wherever you want and it would not matter.
And buy gold to get boost, buying BiS, mount, because lack time. World of Dad = World of RMT.
They play at their own pace. All these efficiency people are just retail tourists.

Retail or not, everyone plays at their own pace. And nobody cares if you do it slow or efficient. People need to stop getting triggered over an addon.
Well shame on you for wasting money, I use guidelime.
Its free, rotues for hardcore or softcore, no issue at all.
What does this have to do with the intensification of RMT?
You’ll have to learn to understand what you read. Everyone goes at their own speed, yes, but respecting the rules, which Blizzard was supposed to enforce.
