Hello people of the forums and maybe even blizzard employees.
This game is so easy these days with so much information everywhere and you do not even have to go to third party sites or software to play this game.
I will make a list of things that are in game and on the “world of warcraft site” that everybody can use and can read or do.
Number 1: the “new to wow” page on the wow site.
Number 2: The “returning players” page on the wow site.
Number 3: The “new/returning players” forum on these forums.
Number 4: The in game tutorial on exile’s reach were they teach you the basic movement controls, how to use spells, how to accept quests and turn them in they even show us what npc’s to kill with a big picture attached to the quest dialog.
Number 5: the in game adventures guide which shows tactics to all bosses in game shows all loot they drop on every difficulty.
Number 6: the npc’s/mobs on any zone really are so weak you barely lose any health while questing through it.
Number 7: Portals to every place are everywhere these days.
Number 8: The looking for group/dungeon finder its so easy to use and so easy to get in dungeons/raids/pvp.
I believe there is probarbly more that could be add and tell me if i should add something to the list or just say it yourself as a reply to me but i think you get my point… I wish blizzard did not held our hands through everything we do and let us explore again a bit more.

It is a pitty that the only opinion i get from people is that they think I am baiting them into something. having said that everyone is allowed to have his/her opinion so that is fine.
I will just wait for people who do wanna give a serious opinion about it.
as ‘that person’ who merrily skips into LFR reading the in game boss guide as Im hitting the Ready check I can honestly say that the guide is actually pretty useless.
Did one of the Santum bosses last night and we wiped until some legend told everybody green circles run to the purple circles…guide didnt say that!
Its so easy that pro players asks blizzard to make raids easier because mechs are too complex now for majority of players. You also dont need thirs sites information to choose right coven, medium, conduits, 2 legs, talents, you dont need to read tactics because theyre so easy and obvious. You dont only need to read about then but you dont need dbm or big wigs also. Because theyre very easy. It was much harder in wotlk and previous versions. Vanilla is where the hardcore is. To complain about “game is too easy” you need to play it first. Maybe then you see how the game feels and wont write topics like this so you wont sound like bait.
wow has survived for 17 years with way worse guides in game and from third party software or sites and still we here wow doesnt do well because of bad explanation? Like for real? i think you can ask any vanilla player how they did it back then how they learned it all. people are becoming to dependent on all the outside guides if you ask me.
I know for a fact that all the ability’s a boss cast are explained in there. and if there was some way to show it to you i would but i am not a youtuber or streamer or anything so i cant show you.
If i am not mistaken you need to go to the site to even buy the game.
And to anwser your question guides can be good to some extent but people are becoming to dependent on them these days and in that regard they los there will to explore and discover things themselves.
I meant “will they go to the site to check out the guides”.
Like if I’m new to a game I would rather go and try to figure things out on my own and if I am returning I will be pretty sure I would manage on my own.

I play world of warcraft since mists of pandaria and before you say this char of mine only exists since bfa this is not my first char. I have done more then enough raids/dungeons world content to say the stuff i said and back them up.
But if you are trying to tell me I may only say something if i have done a Mtyhic raid or when i have done a M+ 32 then you are just an elitist who blocks out the opinion of most people.

Exactly and when you do not know things and really cant figure it out people will go to the internet and look for guides wether that is for third party guides or from blizzard themselves.
The last few expansions have been very systems-heavy with essenses or conduits or relics or whatever other dozen bits & bobs required to build your character.
Dungeons and raids are getting very mechanics-heavy, no more tank & spank bosses. And even with all the assistance provided by the game the expected level of player performance is often not met and vote-kicks happen.
As for open world difficulty, there are two levels, piece of piss easy, or shyt hard. Most of the SL leveling zones were farily easy but then I got to the Maw and without M+ or raid gear I hit a wall and decided the Maw was not for me. Later on my DK alt with some AH greens it wasn’t so bad but still not fun.
But Open World can’t be made much more difficult due to the vast range of player capabilities, hardware specs, class abilities. Some players have limited skill levels due to health issues or simply aren’t very good. Some classes are quite squishy and some are blood DKs and can survive almost anything.
Challenging content can be added in ways such as Mage Tower which doesn’t impact on players with less capabliities than others.
Yeah but that’s my point. Why is this a negative if you can figure it out on your own you don’t need a guide and if you need a guide then how is the game easy then? Also if we get to the point where the game gets that convoluted that new players need guides won’t that lead to those players leaving? I mean you do need to have a certain investment in order to care enough to get good at the game in order to go for guides.
I just don’t see how the existence of guides is a bad thing.
First of all I never stated in my first post that guides are bad lets get that out of the way.
Guides can help for sure… if you are really stuck in a video game.
But I do not see anyone going for a guide on the internet while doing exile reach or the leveling content cause as i said retail is easy.
And then you have 2 different meanings of difficult if you are talking about a boss on mythic yeah sure you already need quit some expierence before you tackle that. but again the game eases you into this they do not throw you into a mythic raid and say here beat this boss.
And secondly you have the learning curve difficulty which i personally think is easy in this game. But what most people are after is how do i make legendarys when there still just reached level 60 and do not need it in a good while.
