Retribution need a serious buff. I think they the worst they've ever been

This is the weakest I believe Retribution has ever been

Retribution currently has…

  • Lowest burst damage of any DPS spec
  • Lowest defensive of any DPS spec
  • Lowest mobility of any DPS Spec
  • Lowest Crowd Control of any DPS spec
  • Doesn’t offer any Offensive Dispels or Mortal Strike
  • Has the lowest Off Healing of any Hybrid DPS

What does Retribution bring? to the game? I would Argue Retribution is Literally F TIer in a meta which is Caster + Hpala healer… Like every shuffle tonight as been 3 Casters + either Disc or Hpala…

If i come against Disc, My Defensive CDS are gone… If I play with a Hpala either my cds or his cds get locked due to forb.

This may bet he worst Ret has ever had it.

    • Templar: Sanctification duration increased to 12 seconds (was 10 seconds).
    • Templar: Final Reckoning now increases the damage of Hammer of Light by 30% (was 15%).
    • Templar: Hammer of Light main target damage increased by 25%.

    • Templar: Empyrean Hammer now benefits from Penitence and Burn to Ash.

enjoy

A buff to hero talents does not look so good.
Sure on paper that mean our burst will be a little better but what about single target damage?
So once again we will be burst spec with no dmg out of it.

Stun dispell and reduced duration on heal , sac , freedom , hop, strongest deff cd in the game etc.

Let’s not act as if Ret brings nothing to the table

This does not off set that they cannot play with or against the meta healer, have the lowest survival rate vs caster comps and offer little to no solo kill potential

Problem with Retribution Paladin is that the class very quickly dominates arena if damage becomes too great.

The 2v2 essentially becomes double dps gatekept by Retribution Paladins because any double dps wont be able to win against a Ret+Support due to the Bubble. So 2v2 practically becomes ret+dps or healer+dps.

My suggestion would be to buff Retribution Paladin’s overall damage and then make it impossible to attack whilst under the effect of bubble. That would solve the arena turbo issues with ret paladin.

I’d normally say you’re exaggerating. But honestly I think it might be the worst in history. The damage does not exist. Even with the damage buffs coming I still think they’ll be bottom of the barrel. Especially with things like disc being so prominent at the moment also.

I think it does seem worse because…

Priest (Meta Healer 1)
Very strong healer right now that removes our defensive spells

Holy Pala (Meta Healer 2)
Playing with a Holy means it’s one wrong BOP or Lay on Hands from game over

Caster
We have less survival vs casters due to low mobility, no range interrupt and our only wall being a 10% reduction. We cannot stop a caster, we cannot pressure a caster, so rets are pretty much a play thing of a caster

add all these 3 together on top of no meme 1 shot build, we end up D Tier vs Caster meta healer comps.

Not gonna argue with that since i really dont know how rets are.

Dude, thats a blatant lie.
Ima stop you right there.

Paladins dont have issues with mobility anymore.

Dude you can Searing Glare a whole team and they cannot even trinket that.
Stun, AOE Incap, Repentance. 100% parry, crit reduction , etc.

Blatant lie.
Of all hybrids actually Ret heals the most.
If you want people to take you seriously, make sure you dont use lies in your statements.
I usually give people the benefit of the doubt because being ignorant is not always intentional but in your case Im just gonna call you a liar.
Stop lying.

Utility, damage, damage soak, offhealing, immunities and offhealing, reduction of CC.

They’re gone if you play your cards wrong.

Thats true and its a bummer, reality is that the game doesnt balance around Shuffle.
You think it doesnt bug me when I play with another rogue or a feral ?

Dude. Probably damage-wise you might be right, im not informed -i dont wonna take any stance on that.
Aside from that- pure deception on your side.
Sorry. This aint Delulu Land.

any double dps loses against 2s meta comps that are dps+healer. even mage+rogue is not really represented in 2s because healers are just too strong. double dps cant end games fast enough before they die without a healer.
ret also has no MS which makes it one of the weaker melees in 2s in general.

ret deserves buffs and as long as they dont overtune them like hell it wont be a problem for 2s at all.

Paladin biggest issue right now is the survival, hence why the next patch seens a HUGE redesign and HUGE BUFF!! to our survival. you are absurdly wrong to believe rets have good defensive abilities.

One AOE iNcap and Rep are a choice node, cannot have it at the same time. Crit reduction is a Holy paladin spell which ret does not have. 100% parry? Assume you mean gearing glare which is a 1.5s CD cast, very great defensive CC…

Feral and balance has higher self healing and off healing
Shadow Priest has higher self healing and off healing
enhancement shaman has higher self healing and off healing

i cannot believe how uninformed you are are as a player

Utility, damage, damage soak, offhealing, immunities and offhealing, reduction of CC.

Damage? No it deosn.t Damage soak? What is that? Off healing none existent given WOG heals for about 400k? 5%-8% health? Immunities can be countered and exceptionally good vs some and none existent. Off healing you’ve already said. So yes the only thing it brings is BOP and SANC.

Something tells me no change is gonna happen, mate
keep it up though.

Are you having a joke?

Do you have data to back up that claim?

there are 2 mages in the top 200 in 2s and zero in the top 100 in 2s

disc + feral is a brick wall. hunter same deal.

Top 200 is not a large enough sample to consider it representative of the entire experience.

While there is probably a good overlap between meta classes and the top 200, at such a low sample size, there could be a plethora of other reasons, for instance, the top 200 best players in the world might just not like a certain class and as such it becomes underrepresented, and we cannot without going into a detailed player analysis of the entire 200 group say exactly why the class distribution is what it is here.

I rather look at something like the top 5000 or so, thats a large enough sample size that I trust the quantitative trends.

rogue mage is significantly harder to play than healer/melee dps in 2s. if the best rogues and mages in the world can’t make it work in 2s, there is zero chance people half their rating will find success.

but sure - top 5000 paints the same picture: take all of the frost mages and all of the sub rogues in the top 5000, combine them and you get 1/4th the number of disc priests in the top 5000

Thanks. Based on what we see on Drustvar, I agree with you.

WowArenaLogs seem to show some succesful double dps comps with relatively high win rates (65%+) such as AffLock + FrostDK, Sub + Destro, but afaik Drustvar is more reliable than WowArenaLogs because it depends on who uses it and so the data is skewed towards those using these tools.

na its not true. especially the Boomy part XDD Boomy have by far the worst off healing and survivability in the game

ur also uninformed

Dont worry dad Blizzard loves Ret Players what just pressing w it will be in a few patches back to the highest represented class in solo shuffle again

also i cant understand your whine thread because like u said Ret is getting buffed/ reworked how about to wait until these changes happen, and if Ret is still trash tier, come back and complain?

i Dont know how good these changes are, or if they are noticeable but Rets are getting buffed + reworked in the big patch, so i think they are still better after these changes?

it was the same in df 2s as well. double dps comps u almost exclusively meet in placements and in lower mmr matches.

the comp has 11 games played total. it was basically played by one team only and they only did placement matches which are low mmr.
if the players are high xp they can for sure win those placements, of which many are against other double dps, but that doesnt mmean the comp is good.
