Retribution spec bonuses

Any1 who is voting for S1 bonus is actively trolling… like there is no way people actually want that bland passive %increase tier set back?

Nah im sure everybody felt that 3% flat dmg increase blizz gave us couple of weeks ago. Truly a spec defining moment :joy:

well I’m all for S3 but if it cannot win, S1 is still better than S2

PvPers vote for S2

Prefiero la apariencia del Tier 1 con el bono del Tier 3

I prefer the look of Tier 1 with the bonus of Tier 3

felt physical pain on “you are in a 25 algethar” part.

I playing with s3 set right now and its not feels good. Reapplying dot with boj when you have better buttons available is not feels good at all, especially during burst.

With s1 you just enjoying your base rotation which is pretty good right now. Maintaining dot is not makes it better.

Argument about double spender animation and 2p bonus animations is kinda silly. Idk about you but i only looking at health bars and not to step in the fire.

its obvious that Season 3 will make the Race but i would like blizzard to actually look at the pvp perspective aswell on this one since Season 1 and Season 2 Set bonuses are way better than Season 3. The problem with the current set bonus is that u have to change ur whole talent tree for a little bit more dmg. Expurgation does very low dmg in generell and with the 50% nerf in pvp it feels like nothing at all. plus the 4 set feels kinda bugged sometimes because the numbers are very diffrent from 12.5% what it should be (50% nerfed in pvp). I dont like the fact that every setbonus is 50% nerfed for every specc/class because there are good ones and bad ones and ret in my opinion got one of the worst in pvp right now. Personally i think the set needs some changes/buffs for pvp to compete with the setbonus from other classes like warrior for example.

mate, you start with BoJ than Judge than burst, than Expurg is there for a long time, you do 1 DT and 1 more Judge in it before you refresh. Also in AOE there are no better button than BoJ to press from your generators. Even with S2 set, because HoW was capped and only generated 2 HP in execute, AND did little damage to secondary targets, on AOE you still spammed BoJ as the main prio, hell even more, as Judge wasnt this big of a prio as it is with the S3 set. So if you want to spam less BoJ, you vote for S3. If you want more meaning in your rotation you vote for S3. Also while S3 set locks you into Expurg, that is always taken in PVE anyways, S2 set locks you into Vanguards Monentum, and Vengeful Wrath at the minimum, which means Divine Purpose will be a completely dead talent again, and you will have basically no flex point in the spec tree (when now you are free to take either, VoJ, DW, EP or VM).

Divine Purpose is dead with s3 either. And thank god for that atleast.

Anyway, looks like s3 will win so be happy.

yea it is mostly dead sadly, but at least in 2-3 dungeons and certain setups it can be used and it does net slightly higher overals in say Everbloom, for a hefty ST loss ofc. But at least there is a very very niche window of oportunity to use it

All i want to say, S3 for pvp broken:
Vanguards say that, Pikachu says that too, u lost like 4-6k dmg per proc, they wrote about it a lot.

  • Pikachu plays 2 set s3 and not using 4 set, cause its bad, if u dont mind my opinion, listen to R1 ret palas

No one argues that s3 bad for pvp, its just not many people care about pvp.

Maybe but S3 is more easy to bugfix and buff for pvp than S2 set for PVE. If you want to buff S2 set for PVE you either buff HoW to a point where you ignore your very spenders and just spam it, or you buff the judgement debuff by a huge lot and than feel bad, that in burst you constantly overwrite the debuff with auto Judgements from DT, HoWs and Judegments and you cant spend all. Plus at the minimum HoW cleave would need to be uncapped to even start to somewhat compete with the S3 set, which they wont do for sure, they’ll only tweak numbers if at all.

All people in us forums understand that. SAD that people dont understant that here

Yeah i agree with you. Using hammer of wrath on 25 targets just feels amazing… oh wait

I do and just because there is not as many pvp players as pve we should not have to miss out we should get a tier for each game mode

this is just as lazy as the 3% ret buff, old content, old transmog, and old tier sets, i rly hope s4 is free to play since we allrdy payed for these things

Well the sims are there to prove that S3 is actually the only option for Ret. There is little we can do aside from voting for it as hoping for an update to make either s1 or s2 actually contribute more than 4% dps each somewhat of an aloof assumption considering the track record of what blizzard provided with their willingness to balance the bonuses.

I’m sure somehow have linked already but in same ilvl gear s3 is just about 7% better than either set bonuses. Even better in AoE situations.

And worst case scenario if s2 tier wins. the class will need about 10% aura buff (10% aura buff equals to about 7% buff in reality as ret uses damage proc trinkets, embellishments etc + the legendary axe if you were lucky to get it so far so only about 70% of our damage is our own) as s2 tier set is unbuffable without making the one ability just be completely absurdly high number, eventually end up breaking it for pvp situation or whatever.

…I don’t care about PVP, so does 90 % of the community…

Then maybe S2 only as PVP set

on Current gear sims made by the man Bolas himself:
ST:
Ret S 3: 250,797
Ret S 2: 236,397
Ret S 1: 235,067
AOE 5 target (which is ideal for S2 set)
Ret S 3: 627,851
Ret S 1: 578,546
Ret S 2: 560,806
So even the IDEAL 5 target scenario for the HoW cleave nets S2 set to be the weakest in AOE, and it has no more value, on more targets. So not even tuning will save the S2 in AOE
