How do you know? Blizzard is already time gating t5 content for the slowpokes. BT and Hyjal was the end game content for over 10 months back in tbc. There was, and will most likely be, plenty of time to catch up if the release date/short notice is the only thing holding you back.
Unlike what have been the case for retail recently, Blizzard didn’t give people the chance to catch up during prepatch back in 2006/2007. What people like you are asking for is for Blizzard to implement the retail way.
This statement makes no sense. Blizzard is adding time gates that weren’t there back in 2007 to help people catch up, and to artificially be able to prolong the “fresh” feeling of TBC.
In the original prepatch you couldn’t even level blood elves, draenei and jewelcrafting. You are being given 14 more days than you should have. Now come on and wake up.
Someone actually talking sense… ./salute
Yeah, there was no time to level a draenei/belf in 2007, but Blizzard announced for TBC Classic that there would be a longer pre-patch. It is clear that the devs would like to have a longer pre-patch (besides, beta is not optimum yet), but Activision wants to improve the numbers for Q2, that’s why June 1 (something you fanboys won’t understand).
And regarding my no-sense statement: I expected to play vanilla/classic WoW and transfer to TBC at my own will (I am willing to pay any usual monetary cost for such transfer), but I don’t want to cut off my progress in Classic as I hardly doubt there will be guilds regularly running 60-level raids in TBC – hence the force-locking you to either Classic forever or TBC.
I really wish Blizzard would just grasp itself free from the claws of Activision but I fear it’s too late and J Allen Brack is… well he’s a guy that likes money.

That is impossible even at a miracle standart. Just on the contrary, Activision is replacing more of the Blizzard team with their own boys.
There is no hope for Blizzard. All we can hope for, is to get a taste of TBC for a little while until it lasts.
I ONLY wish at this point that they will put LFR and tokens a bit later, maybe 5-6 months into TBC so that we can actually play a bit before it goes down like retail.

The release is too soon, the prepatch is too short, the prices are disgusting.
I’m tempted to jump on a private server.

Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. Shameless greed, this company is in shambles. Another total disregard and disrespect for the community. They really don’t give a damn.
You’ll ruin our experience once again. Two weeks pre-patch as an attempt to squeeze as much Retail-like money out of the playerbase is cynicism at its worst. This is not TBC Classic, this is a retailed version of the once great expansion we once had.
Terrorizing a promising game like this …
Reconsider this ridiculous decision. You’ve already lowered our expectations for it to be a solid game by introducing all the boosts and other paid-services (which btw are way too high), but now you dumpster the pre-patch time as well?
This is a crime.

First time since game was released in 2004 ive commented.
While I look forward to “Classic” TBC - im disappointed by how short the prepatch is.
To those who say you knew it was coming and should have levelled - no I have levelled all bar the paladin - so basically (for me) about 60 hours to level it to 60…
Very disappointing…

Exactly the point - I have a family - so little time to play.
Had hoped for a bit of faffing to get the R14 gear - but its that or the pally it seems…

This has to be the most ridiculous idea to announce TBC release 1 month before… Like What the F is going on over there at blizz headquarter ? 90% of your TBC fanbase is hella ancient and need some time to get off work, Talk to our wifes and stuff so we can lock ourself in the basement for 2 weeks without the hassle… please fire the guy who came up with this stupid idea and his whole entourage … just extend the prepatch a month so we can lvl up our paladins/shamans… jezzz… #saveTBClaunch

Probably due to financial quarter… Same reason why they make 99.9% of their decisions. Money.

Absolutely glad you have highlighted this issue. The iceberg community have been repeatedly let down by Blizzard.

If you don’t have a lot of time to play you shouldn’t bother getting the rank 14 gear in the first place. It would be an an utter waste of time, even for alts decked out in greens.
I’m not happy about this. First of all I wanted to copy my main characters to exist on both realms, that idea is out of the window now.
Thanks for putting this mount in classic as well. Some people can’t afford to spend so many money for it. I wouldn’t mind having one but I guess I will have to pass on that too. Watching people running on it and I couldn’t, no because I didn’t farmed rep for it, because my pocket isn’t deep enough.
Release date o pre patch is amazing imo. 2 weeks on the pre patch is dog poo poo. I really though of quitting the game for 3 of the reasons. You had amazing patch, ( was super late fix btw) with the Chronothingys. 10g each it’s kinda expensive but w/e the change was good, removing batching just amazing.
So having 2 weeks of pre patch only and having to spend so many real money on the other things just shown to your player base that you don’t care anymore. You CARE only for making money, that’s sad the gaming is declining and it will die earlier with wrong choices.
Haaaaaaa ! It felt like an eternity and those last months were slow, hopefully the price will limit the number of boosted char and the people complaining about boosted char will think twice.
Two weeks pre pach is kind of a short notice but so be it, no complain.
TBC with cash shop. Go to hell, blizz. We were not prepared to this crap.

Breaking News :
Blizzard is a COMPANY that exists to make MONEY !.. i know its unheard of that a company wants to make money literally ground breaking idea !
Pre Patch time : More than enough for a casual player to level 1-60 , there is an XP nerf for vanilla content just as back in the day , stop whining and lvl !
Also there are more players with more time than players without time majority wins 99.9% of the time unless there is a “coupe” !
As for the whine about MOUNTS … either you have the cash / time to grind or you dont have the mount… if you really want to have tons of mounts… play retail where its gifted to you for pressing a button ! A button not several buttons (lfg/lfr etc)
I mean I don’t have to agree with you right?
Are you blizzards employee by any chance?
You dont have to agree with anything thats the beauty of individual choices !
And NO im not employeed by blizzard but blizzard is a company
