Returning player: gearing

The game is very different to what i remember, the systems are slightly overwhelming,

once 60 can you gear purely from pvp?, from bgs and casual arena, when i played there was vendors, you got the currency from pvping and bought what you wanted, is there still such vendors?

if so is the gear you get valuable or do i need to run pve content to get the best gear for pvp?

Unless you plan to be the very best in pvp you can ignore pve (maybe it might be worth to do one M+ for a free loot per week) and farm honor / conquest and buy the items you want, conquest has a weekly cap tho, the vendors are in Oribos, they’re the same that give you weekly pvp quests.

so you’re saying i can be comfortable gearing doing pvp content, and if i want to push run pve content to grab the goodies?

PvP gear is sold on a vendor and only good for PvP but you need upgrade it with honor.

thanks for the info

But if you want upgrade conquest gear you need to do ranked for the rating

If you’re planning on casual (unrated) PvP, don’t bother. It’s honestly not worth the frustration.

Unranked (honour) gear is all but useless.
You’ll spend months of blood, sweat, tears & one-shot insta-deaths clawing your way up to a maximum 30ilvls below conquest gear.
Conquest gear is gated behind rating.

Random BG’s are an unbalanced poop-show.
Fresh 60’s/newbs/alts etc facing players with 2-3 times their hp -to the point they can’t meaningfully contribute, so don’t be surprised to see plenty of afk’rs & quitters.
Check your teams gear, check enemies gear, if they outgear your team, prepare for a crushing annihilation.
Rinse & repeat.

Next weeks brawl is comp stomp, which is player vs AI(easy mode npcs).
Good week to farm honor for the basic set and upgrades if you are newly dinged.

Added to it.

Lets not call it AI. Its player vs easy mode npcs.
AI team would tea bag players at the respawn pawn.
