I used to play a lot back when WoW was around the Lich King expansion. After that I have played some expansions more then others. The last time I came back was in BFA 8.2 and it seemed like everything I wanted to do, people just rushed it like dungeons and raids. I guess I focused too much on PVE and thats just not my thing.
This time I want to focus on PVP and mainly the epic battlegrounds. I want to play some larger scale PVP once in a while with characters I will be leveling to 60: resto druid and marksman hunter. So my question is: is it worth it at the moment. I remember Alterac Valley just became a rush thing without PVP. Are epic battlegrounds even epic right now?
My second question would be: do I need this 220/230 gear to heal in epic battlegrounds? Will I get stomped with lesser gear in mass pvp? In other words: do I need to play a lot of PVE before I can even compete in PVP?
Epic bf allows you to wear slight lesser gear.
As healer just dont get caught - thats the key.
Stomping is about overall team performance - your alone performance doesn’t help to stop stomping.
I did some battlegrounds on my warlock. I can tell you that Ashran is bad. I mean, I don’t really like that players are just killing each other until the game is over. No one is able to kill opposite team general (or boss).
Wintergrasp is very similar to old Wintergrasp, people still defend and destroy towers (or at least try to).
Isle of Conquest is well, I’d say literally same.
Alterac Valley, you have to destroy towers. It’s not really a rush to end boss.
That would be it I guess. About gear - well, it seems versatility helps a lot, so while you can have some PvE gear, its’ recommended to get honor gear because 197ilvl gear will scale to 210 ilvl in battlegrounds while PvE gear won’t. You won’t be roflstomped but your heals can be less effective.
