Returning player wanting vanilla

Thats not true. Plenty of raids and dungeon groups, although no GDKP raids which is probably what you are looing for :stuck_out_tongue:

is that so :cowboy_hat_face:

Firemaw-Eu player here,

I was in similar situation like OP, I quit classic in early 2020, was burned out from raiding and as a player who doesn’t like to play alts, without chronoboon I hated not being allowed to play when I had buffs on me and being forced to basically raid log.

Never thought that I would play WoW classic again, so just unsubbed and didn’t follow any WoW news regarding to TBC and cloning services etc, so basically my character was transferred to Wotlk.

Started playing WoW again during first day of SOD release, phase 1 was nice but felt stretched out too long, phase 2 I didn’t liked pvp 1 shot meta balance there so quit SOD and decided to recreate my WoW classic character.

3 months in playing classic now and last week I have reached R14 for first time due to new pvp ranking system changes (took me 8 weeks), got into progression based SR type guild as a ret paladin, I could switch holy and go straight to naxx if I really wanted, but I am enjoying taking my time slowly with raid progression, R14 gear feels good enough for me to have some fun in casual pvp.

Its never too late to start and with all content being released I feel much more at ease by not needing to rush through content. I can play at my own pace and realm feels populated, I was able to get a group while leveling in most dungeons no problem.

There are always people consistently leveling on era, it’s been that way for a long time. There’s still plenty of DM groups even late at night.

I’m leveling this character on Era now and I haven’t had the feeling it’s “dead”. That’s a bad term for MMO’s and tends to end up being an almost self fulfilled prophecy…

If you start now I recommend taking skinning and either mining or herb. This is obviously good advice for any new characer/server but the added bonus is that now, with 4-5 years of gold influx to the economy those skins/matts will sell for so much that it will cover all your usual “gold sink” costs i.e spells, mounts, bags, bank slots etc etc.

I see plenty of shouts for dungeons of all level ranges, SR guilds and run’s being made, guild recruitment for guilds at various parts of progression MC,BWL,AQ etc. Era is more than healthy and apart from the immediate post TBC launch…always has been.
