I’ve got one question. Why 16? If this bug wouldn’t be there then those people would have gotten still much higher maybe 30-40.
Cause if it’s really an exploit, then players who used it should be punished? Fairness when giving punishment goes out the window.
People already at max level have an advantage in that they can already start tackling max level content such as UBRS runs or farming world content for gold.
In the time it takes the rest of the populous to catch up they could already be in a position to control the market in certain high-value goods such as Lotus or Devilsaur Leather.
And what? Do you think this was not going to happen anyway? People are pulling shifts with only a couple of hours sleep to get to max, someone/group was always going to get there with or without the XP boost faster than the 99%.
So many will already be at max, done raids, controlled the market in high-value items and so on. Again by the time, the 99% get there.
All this XP boost was got them there a few days quicker. I have friends playing that have largely gone solo, grouped with 2/3 at most, done a few dungeons on the way and they are at lvl 50 already, no XP boost required.
It’s just sourness and jealousy. With or without the XP bug a Private Server guild was always getting there first and quicker than anyone else.
I don’t think they’re moaning about people generally levelling quickly. They’re moaning about people who “unknowingly” exploited a bug to level faster, which then gives them the advantages that they have not earned. The argument that ‘lol people will level fast anyway’ makes no sense here. Minmaxing guilds should be rewarded for levelling super fast, exploiters should not.
Well, to be fair:
The OP was only interested in using it himself, now he can’t he wants everyone else punished whether they knew or not.
Then OP is right for the wrong reasons
This isn’t a sensible change.
Either it’s an exploit or it isn’t, just because it’s blizzards golden boys Method that has been using it they aren’t giving any punishments.
If it was random Joe Schmuck the punishment would have been severe.
do u guys remember the exp poition bug abuse at the beginning of Bfa
ppl there got Banned when it literaly had no impact into server economie etc.
now in classic when it matters a lot more nothing happens
Too be honest it was not much faster than efficient questing, it’s just a lazy man’s option since you don’t have to run around and just mindless aoe everything.
I done it for one level and went back to questing.
That’s totally irrelevant, either it’s an exploit and punishments should be handed out or it’s not and the hotfix should be reverted. END OF STORY
no that’s not the end of the story. It’s not this or that.
You forgot the ‘these things happen all the time and just move on with your life’ option. It’s the option everyone else is taking bar some jelly casuals who are raging they missed out.
Don’t get me wrong i understand feeling that you missed out because you would rather not take a few days off work and use that annual leave to go stand in some hipster music festival or the like and drink Bacardi’s and pretend to be some life expert but that’s on you basically.
It is the end of story, blizzard called it an exploit. THEN TREAT IT LIKE AN EXPLOIT or revert the hotfix.
It doesn’t matter what mental gymnastics all you lemmings and fanboys come up with to defend your streaming “gods”.
Where did they call it an exploit?
inb4 he quotes the word bug and spins some edgelord conspiracy theory that means nothing
I wonder if you’d feel the same way if you had used it yourself, as you stated you are mostly upset they ‘‘fixed it’’ before you could use it, as you were planning to.
I have no problem with them reverting the hotfix.
I think I shouldn’t reply to rage threads, but in this case my curiosity is bigger than my restraint.
Imagine OP gets what he asks and several dozen (hundreds?) of players get reset to level 16. Would that make OP and anyone else feel good about the game, themselves and the players that have been demoted?
How would the demoted players respond? I’d expect them to rage as well.
Does anyone think demoting players to 16 is a reasonable and nice thing to do?
I don’t of course, but I’m curious how far out the feelings of some can be to request something like that to be done to fellow players.

So they didn’t say it was an exploit and you just made that up.
