"Thanks to player reports and feedback, we’ve identified a bug affecting how XP was calculated for parties of 6 or more players.
We are rolling out a hotfix right now, to all realms, that should correct this. Going forward, XP awarded should be significantly lower for parties of 6 or more players.
Again, thank you very much for your feedback."
Either revert this hotfix or rollback everyone who grinded using this exploit back to level 16.
You have known about this “exploit” for a week now, you changed it WAY to late and the rest of us who hasn’t been using it are being punished now.
If you haven’t used it, then you won’t be punished.
You may have used it unknowingly, but you still used it, and you will still be corrected. That’s what rules are about, sadly.
I don’t see the problem. How much did you play in groups of 6 or more?
I don’t understand how it’s the players fault for using a system in the game. It’s on blizz to release non-broken content, if the content is broken, don’t ask blizz to take away days of peoples’ lives lives because they can’t code a game properly.
I hated it. I like to play and have someone streaming WoW on my second screen. It’s almost like playing with a friend that I don’t have. This dungeon grind was so boring that I was watching YT instead.
Oh stop it people, you guys are ridiculous. What does it matter to you they use an “exploit”. It was not even a clear “exploit”; they just figured it was the most efficient way and did it.
They did it, good for them; you can’t do it, too bad for you. Does it really matter?
Let’s not pretend that everyone who was doing it wasn’t thinking “Surely, this is a bug, right?”. XP gain in a raid is miniscule, that’s common knowledge. At least rock it if you’re going to defend doing so. Not only is it antithetical to the spirit of Classic, it was SO OBVIOUSLY an exploit. At the very least, that horrid meta is now gone.
You know that you’ll one shot every boss at endgame?
We have guides, addons, we know our class, our PCs can run the game much better than they used to back then, our internet connection is much faster and more stable.
Apes cleared MC and Onyxia in greens and missing 6 players from the full raid.
Classic is about the journey. People still remember memorable pieces of gear that drops from SFK or SM. Getting skills, unlocking stuff, doing class quests or some really long quest chains. Progression. That’s what it’s all about.
That’s upto Blizzard. It completely took over the meta, so you’ll end up rolling back a large proportion of the playerbase. Morally, sure, they should, but doing so is no longer their best interest
