Reviving Zandalar Tribe RPPvP Era - Call to Action!

Hello! With the recent surge in population for Classic Era, I want to try and start getting the ball rolling for the Zandalar Tribe RPPvP realm. In my opinion, this server has massive potential and it’s just sitting there waiting to fulfil that potential.

This is the call to action for anyone interested in playing on an RPPvP server! I know I am only one person, so this may ring hollow to many people (and I’m sure some of the replies will express that). However, the server isn’t ever going to populate itself, and unless we put in the effort to get it populated, the potential this server has will be lost. I’ve seen the effort people put in to get the word out about the Firemaw and Pyrewood clusters, and I want to see that start for Zandalar Tribe. Be the change you want to see and all that.

RPPvP servers are my favourite type of WoW server, the mixture of world PvP with roleplay is such a great and underrated combo in WoW. I’m sure anyone who played on Zandalar Tribe or Grobbulus back in 2019 classic knows what I mean. It’s a very unique kind of server, with a very different atmosphere that results in some of the most interesting and immersive PvP and RP events I’ve ever seen in WoW.

Here are some of the positives I feel Zandalar Tribe Era offers:

• No connected realms - Just like the RPPvE server Hydraxian Waterlords, Zandalar Tribe is NOT connected to any other realms. So you won’t see players with a server name after their player name in chat or in the world. It’s one server, and one community. This also means you have to pick one faction and stick to it (beyond playing multiple accounts).

• It’s a pseudo “fresh start” - With so few people on the server right now, it’s essentially a fresh start realm, or is as close as we can get without Blizzard releasing a new one. The AH is all but empty, and there’s only a handful of people on the realm currently. This is one of the most exciting aspects about the realm, as it’s essentially new lands for anyone that wants to play here.

• No fully geared characters - Another positive of the low starting population is that you won’t see many people running around in phase 6 Naxx gear.

• A place for RPers to play away from the Hardcore scene - As many of you probably know, the Hardcore community has exploded in popularity on the RPPvE server Hydraxian Waterlords. While I have nothing but good things to say about the hardcore community and the premise of it, due to their unique rules which includes no grouping, playing on Hydraxian as a non hardcore character can be a very frustrating experience, as you have to wait regularly in queues for any singular mob such as Goldtooth or Zalazane. Zandalar Tribe would offer a less constrictive environment for players wanting an RP realm without the anti-social hardcore rule set dominating the population.

I am hopeful there are others out there like me, that want to play on a RPPvP server again, but haven’t taken the plunge due to the tiny server size. If any of this interests you, please considering making a character on Zandalar Tribe to help rebuild the community and get the ball rolling! It will take time, but I am confident that if the interest exists, the realm will start to repopulate again.

For anyone that does roll here. Alliance side has a guild called Recharged that is looking for any active players. Message Zee or Gattir in game.

I’ll update if any Horde equivalent exists.

It may also be obvious, but since I still have left a 46 troll hunter there, please report botters. Yes, there are few botters already, especially mages.

Keep your eyes peeled, and let’s eradicate this cancer from the BiS realm.

Ive got a 34 warrior that im leveling soon.

People should grab the Total RP 3 addon, alot had it during 2019 Classic.

I wholeheartedly support this initiative. I think that just as non-RP players have great options for their intended gameplay on Firemaw and Pyrewood Village, so too should RPers have options with ZT and HW. Let’s hope that both see a surge of players the servers were made for.

That’s more him suggesting RP players to try ZT than HC ones, because HW is currently dominated by HC players while ZT isn’t.

I recently saw a video about a newly released addon called VoiceOver which grabbed my attention for Classic with two hands. I’m normally a Retail Rp’er but I wanted to give classic RP a try. I made a character on HW because it was the most populated one but was heavily disappointed because it was completely full of ‘hardcore’ players and very disrespectful as well.

Sell me on ZT and why it’s better than Celebras!

I have met so many great ex-ZT players that I’ve reached the conclussion it is the Classic server I should have played in starting in 2019…

As soon as I find some time I will start leveling an alt there. Sounds like an exciting and worthy challenge!

Cele is a small realm, but seems to have more active RP than Zandalar Tribe and Hydraxian Waterlords at the moment.

BUT - Celebras is the former GERMAN RP Realm.
The community is still the german RP Community, who never left or is coming back since Blizzard murdered our TBCC Realm :rage:

We DO have few internatinal RP Player, but they do at least understand german.
Unless you speak german, you´d have a difficult time to get in touch with the existing RP community, since our RP is in german.

Some of us are fine with using english in whispers, though - but not all of us (we´ve been fighting and begging for a german RP realm for 2.5 month 2019, because not all of us speak english or feel comfortable using it).
Of course we have an influx of english players, too, but the “core community” and our Discord are german.

I don´t know if you speak german - if yes, you can give it a try :slight_smile: i won´t complain about more Roleplayers :blush: , but otherwise i´d suggest to help to try to build a new RP community on Zandalar Tribe, if you don´t want to play on Hydraxian Waterlords (hopefully the HC player will leave the RP realms as soon as official HC Realms are there).

Thanks for clarifying! I don’t speak german myself, I’m dutch. So I guess ZT is better suited for me then. I’m not sure how world PVP will influence RP on a RPPVP server, never had experience with it. Is griefing a big thing there?

I can’t imagine how a dutch RP realm would be like, I don’t think our language is suited for something like that lol.

Depends what you mean by griefing, if you mean high levels ganking low levels, that’ll happen (although right now the server is basically empty so it’s not gonna be common at all until a population increase). That’s just a fact of any PvP server really. With RPPvP usually people will actively PvP to to fit their character. If you’re an Orc Warrior that hates the Alliance you’re gonna attack anyone on sight, or maybe you’re a pacifist that disagrees with any sort of war, so you refuse to fight anyone. It’s whatever you make of it, like any RP server. That’s the beauty of RP realms to me, where as with regular PvP realms you just fight because the guy has a red name.

If you mean people griefing active roleplay, no. In my experience it’s usually interwoven into it. So you get this mix of RP combined with active PvP. It’s quite unique. I remember when classic came out, Zandalar had an event where the Horde invaded Westfall, and there was a massive PvP battle. There’s probably a video of it somewhere. You can also just do roleplay as normal in faction controlled territories.

Shame we didnt have you! Best server i ever played WoW on by far, in 19 years of WoW.

I came to mess with the roleplayers, but quickly realized that these people are incredibly healthy for the games community, super friendly and vastly entertaining. They REALLY know how to make most of the game.

And due to it being a PvP server too, none of the games other aspects were missing.
