Ok after inspecting "change character " screen ,i notice that on some guild tag is removed and on some isnât
if memory serves me right I did this.
Log out of the WoW forums and shut down your browser.
Left click âstartâ (assuming youâre on windows 10)
Scroll down to World of Warcraft. Left click on folder icon
Right Click on the WoW symbol
Scroll down to More and hover over it so that you see 3 new options. Left click on âOpen file locationâ tab
On the window that pop ups RIGHT click on the wow symbol and scroll down to open file location. Left click to open it.
Right click on retail
Left click on âOpen in New Windowâ
Scroll to cache. Open that file. You will see ADB and WDB. Double click on WDB and EnUS appears. Double click on it and it will show you all the cache files. Delete this entire folder. Donât worry it doesnât destroy any important files in the main game. Once you have deleted all this boot up WoW again and the game automatically starts new cache files. Log in to your character, and log out. Now re open your browser and log back in to the forums. If it works the same way as it did for me then your old guild name will be removed from your forum name.
It should be noted I am in no way shape or form an it specialist so i tend to do things the hard way. I think this is pretty much everything I did to get rid of the old guildname.
Oddly enough, the guild still exists on the armory and shows me as a guild master even though I am clearly not one.
Must be some shadowlands time traveling bug
Itâs destiny.
Would be good if a Blue show up to fix jt perhaps!
Or maybe tell -how to-!

My job here is done
Thanks for sharing my battle.tag with the entire general discussion! At least I havenât added you on real IDâŚ
It doesnât show the numbers, youâre safe
Mine is in my screenshot but itâs publicly available on various sites so Iâm not worried
They need your #numbers too to add
It does seem the armory is confused if it thinks you are both solo and the GM of a guild.
What if someone tries out every number combination between 0000 and 9999 and they find me?
Iâd call that dedicated loveseeking
Well, expect a friend request soon since you just gave away that your tag only has 4 numbers
Update: Apparently I sent a friend request and i am weirded out by my own IQ.
Donât tell anyone whatâs my tag, please.
No worries
Unlikely but you can still ignore or decline the invite
Theyâd have to be pretty determined
Weird how the forums seem to have such problems detecting changes with characters in the game.
I wrote a ticket about this and it seems the GMs cannot manually remove my guild tag.
