Reinstall windows, that usually fixes something
A friend of mine thought they’d make a new guild called the same as my guild that disbanded to maybe force the Armory to update. Apparently, there are now two guilds called Riftwalkers on Argent Dawn.

Join another guild. Doesn’t have to have the same name.
But I’d rather stay guildless and have the forums show it as such.
No I meant you can join any guild, wait for armory to update, log out of forums, back in and then once that update has worked, leave the guild.
But then the forums will probably leave me with the tag of that new guild for the next year… at least Riftwalkers are kinda thematically fitting.
Just walk it off.
Fixed for ya
I have a feeling you are making fun of my suffering and being stuck with a guild tag.
They shouldn’t, it’s a hiccup with the armory.
Seems like it’s something that many of us have to put up with. I left my guild months ago and the guild name still pops up for me as well.
I guess the best course of action is to ignore it.
Yeah sorry, I don’t have any expert knowledge on this, so a herp derp comment here and there is all I can contribute with. I hope it won’t cause any rift between us, for future discussions.
I’m as confused as you are.
The only reliable solution to force the forum to update your status that I’ve found is a dramatic change on the character account level like a race change. Maybe you can delete and undelete the character to induce it? Make sure to leave the character deleted for a day or so for the system to clear and catch up and then flush your browser. Just remember that this may or may not clear you from people’s friendlists.
The quirks of this broken forum is kind of a niche expertise to be sure.
If you race change to a Mechagnome, there’s a very sweet and appropriate guild name you might be willing to live with for another year - The Upgradables:
Just saying.
…Okay. That one was good. I cannot even be mad at you now.
I tried - did I find the right one?
I’ll let you know when I next enter Battle.net.
I… I cannot believe this. The day has come. The day where my guildtag decided it is about time it disappears. To all those who supported me on the way there, to those who kept replying in the thread, to those who gave suggestions on how to rid of the tag, to the GM who replied to my ticket, to Marinya who created a guild called Riftwalkers to try and force a reset.
I am not sure what exactly made the guildtag disappear, but thank you. Finally, the year-long struggle is over.
Congrats, have a like
