Rogue - Fist Weapons

In the Combat talent tree we have an option to select “Fist Weapon Specialization”, I’m fairly new to Rogue and I never played a lot of Classic or Retail but love the idea of using combat claws and the likes on my Rogue, unfortunately, I don’t seem to be able to find any fist weapons and is this a viable option for a Rogue as it seems a very fitting style over the dual-wielding two swords that look big enough to require two hands to even lift…

Yeah fist weapons aren’t really good for rogues because there aren’t any that are that great for us and the ones that are good for us are inferior to swords or daggers because A) we can’t backstab with them and B) we can’t get extra swings with them like we can with swords.

Yeah, that’s a shame as it seems like a missed opportunity and definitely something that could have been better developed to work as a viable build. I hate swords so it’s very disappointing to find that the only viable Rogue build is swords :frowning:

Combat swords is the go-to spec for levelling but it isn’t the only viable one.
Hemo swords is also viable (you can also go daggers instead of swords, you just need a good pair of daggers and good crit) and you can also go seal fate daggers but that’s a little more gear intensive.

Daggers seem like too much effort for minimal gain over swords, by the time you stealth, position yourself, engage etc its just easier to run it face first with swords, real shame but oh well :frowning:

You’re going to piss off a tank if you’re opening with anything other than Garrotte tbf. They don’t want to be wrestling you for aggro if you’re opening with a massive Ambush. Normal mob fights last enough time to gain max (or most) of the damage from Garrotte and you keep your threat low. Also talenting out improved stealth keeps you in a forward position of the tank almost 100% of the time, meaning you can pop off a Garrotte on their first Sunder.

As for the fist thing, I don’t really remember using them, but I think that was only because good ones are few and far between.
