Rogue Question: Pre-Bis Item Confusion

Hi there guys,

So, today my Cloudrunner Girdle dropped.

It’s stats are:

  • 185 Armor
  • 14 STR
  • 15 AGI

On the other hand I can finish a Quest in BRS which will reward me also with a wrist item. It’s stats are as follows:

  • 95 Armor
  • 9 STR
  • 9 STA
  • 1% Crit Chance
  • 1% Dodge Chance

What I dont understand is, the Cloudrunner Girdle is listed as a Pre-Bis item for my Sword Spec. But isn’t the one from BRS better? It has flat 1% crit chance where the Cloudrunner has only 15 AGI which is like 0,5% crit. OK it has overall more AP (Attack Power), but isn’t CRIT > AP?

Help me out guys …

Yeah some Prebis guides are kinda weird. Some don’t mention options that are pretty much as good. I wouldn’t take them too rigidly.

Some time ago I remember someone posting a pre-bis guide that listed 2x Freezing Band as Mage prebis rings, no alternatives listed. That’d be near 1000g… for prebis.

14.5 agility = 1% crit for a rogue.

So yeah, Cloudrunner is better. More attack power, more crit.

the 15 agil is still around .5% crit. So the difference is .5

I’m no expert but your confusion might have something to do with confusing stat priorities for dagger spec with sword.

The difference is extremely small but Cloudrunner is actual prebis belt for swords

29 AP & 0.5% crit versus 9 AP & 1% crit. Cloudrunner is a lot better therefore it’s listed as pre-bis, nothing confusing about it.

It’s called the pre-BiS guide, and not the alternative pre-BiS guide. There’s plenty of alternatives for every slot, they’re not gonna list every single item you can get. You’re smart enough to figure it out yourself.

They are. You won’t find better rings unless you are lucky to get 2x Ring into Molten Core (and now we talk about Raid BiS :stuck_out_tongue: ). Yeah sure, there’s princess ring from BRD quest, but it’s lower than Freezing Band.
