I wonder if the older version of one of the Hunter Aspects - that gave all Group/Raid members a speed boost 'til cancelled) - would have been seen as a similar unfair advantage, had that remained in the game today…?
Aspect of the Pack - Only if dungeons were as long as Ahn’Qiraj and you couldn’t mount inside, while also having a competitive side (timers) - Then it would have - Yes.
Those are some valid points. It does suck that the invis pot shares cd with the other potions. But the mounted part wouldn’t be a problem if Rogue’s weren’t that fast (Sprint) when they Shroud. The reason why you mount is because the Rogue can move so fast that if you mount you can catch up to him and make full use of the Shroud+Sprint.
If Sprint was restricted from being used during Shroud then they would be put on even ground with the potions because mounting would put everyone faster than the rogue and then they can’t really go far anyway. They can just simply walk with the Rogue.
A good example is how the escape scenario played out with Rokhan from the Horde campaign.
Either that or allow mounting with the potions too.
This is only a problem in Mythic+ dungeons, because skip is very helpful.
I think the whole mythic+ “timed” or “100% force” is flawed.
The trash/enemy force should be redesigned for mythic+, so that you need to kill everything in a dungeon to reach 100%, in which skip is not needed.
It also reduces people blame each other pulling too many/not enough et dramas in mythic+ pug.
They just need something like drums or scrolls. Maybe an engineering toy, or a tailoring invis cloak. Shroud puts rogues ahead of every other dps class in m+, that is basically the definition of OP.
mages shroud - already exists as a pvp talent for a short duration
Hmm if it was to be granted to an extra class, giving it to another tier 1 dps might not be the best plan. I could see shadow priest or MM hunter working well, fantasy-wise, and would give them a much needed buff.
elaborate because i cant see it
Shadow has always been about mind control and… well… shadows. In fact sub rogues are based on using shadow magic to ‘step through the shadows’.
MM Hunter as a stalker of prey, or a sniper, would be well versed in camouflage.
makes sense, another way is to nerf shroud through reducing their active timer. So, in mythic + you could skip a group and not five
MM is a military grade archer.
BM would be your stalker type, as a hunter with a well trained companion would be the kind to gather food for his tribe/village and needs to walk soft so not to inform all wildlife about his presence.
I disagree.
a lot of classes lost their identity and fantasy and further ruining it isnt something i want.
Shroud would hardly be fantasy, how the heck would a physical class like a rogue make his party disappear without using magic (invisible vs stealth). Hes not turning them invisible, but making them stealth. Its not a large smokescreen or optical camouflage gear with a batterie capacity of 10 seconds and then needing a solar recharger or something. They use weapons and poisons, and in only in case of sub rogues they put their fingers on some kind of shadow spells.
Mages have mass invisibilty, that somewhat makes sense in terms of fantasy and identity.
how does rogue disappear without magic? imagination and fantasy.
He doesnt, he is sneaky enough to know how to avoid detection, blindspots or whatever, you cant teach that in just a seconds, and definitly not to a plate wearing knight.
So true…
Trying to walk a group anywhere with a shroud sometimes feels like walking my dogs.
One of my dogs want to get from A to B as fast as possible so he’ll be as far ahead as his leash allows, while the other one stops everywhere so he’s behind.
I have been guilty (not in M plus) but in lesser difficulties not paying attention and the rogue has cloaked the group and I’m left standing there thinking whoops!
Fortunately I was on my hunter and could run past and feign
I don’t really think they should do anything about shroud, but with this I cannot agree.
Imo, it is absolutely againdt class fantasy for the rogue to be able to magically share his invisibility. The whole fantasy is built upon the rogue being the one infiltrating the enemy lines, not being some center piece to hide a bunch of people.
Not more unrealistic than warriors jumping over 35 meters from a standing position…
That’s why most of us are after class fantasy and not realism. Rogue going completely invisible is not realistic just because he’s sneaky, but it does support their sneaky class fantasy. Making everyone else super sneaky does not.
In mah humble opinion, rogues class fantasy does not involve magical abilities. They turn invisible? “They’re so silent and smooth in their moves”. They teleport behind you? “They’re just so damn quick”. Same goes with warriors as being “just so damn strong and glorious”. They make four bulky taurens invisible? “How the f*ck did that happen?”
