Rogue's Shroud Needs to go.

Its not about equal in this case but broken in terms of prefered compositions.
When a rogue, who has no considerable drawback against any other (melee) dps class offers the option to save like 1-2 minutes of fighting by just passing a few mobs, then this is a massive contribution. You cant mess up a pull, a kick, or whatever when there is no fight at all.

If I want to achieve similar, I can do it only with a single trashpack incase there is only a single target that would cause aggro: paralyse and push away with RoP. It costs me 2 45sec abilities which is fine, but could have been used to rescue an “o-crap” moment on the next trash pack. One of these abilites is a talent (no need to say the other 2 talents are a placeholder for next xpac).

Or, you know, not complicate anything for no reason and just remove or significantly nerf the 3 amazingly overpowered classes?

raider{dot}io/mythic-plus/season-bfa-1/world/leaderboards-character/all/dps/12#content
2 warriors, 1 paladin, 1 DK among top 250 DPS-only ranks. 35% rogues, 35% DHs, rest is mages, some boomkins, some hunters, random monk or shaman. It’s not about making everything the same, each class gameplaywise the same or any other crap. It’s about 4 classes being EXTREMELY overpowered and virtually 1 comp being ahead of others by a long shot. Leather stacking is the only reasonable way to go, it’s 3rd year in a row since m+ went live and noting has changed.

Look at this, scroll, check out houndreds of runs and please tell us where leather-stacking stops being THE ONLY visible trend? I gave up at 400 and it’s pretty obvious for anyone who’s not one of the “premmium” classes that the cut-off is at around m+13/m+14 level of content. That’s where people currently invite other classes more frequently instead of stacking leathers, Blood DKs/monks with a mage/boomkin/hunter. That’s at or around ranks 6k+.

delete that ability. since its birth i knew it was gonna cause all sorts of trouble

Give mage a mass invisibility so it would open more comps.

Inb4 “but mage has time warp, arcane intellect and insane kiting toolkit. it would be unfair for rogues.” > exactly how it feels to be any other melee now and as I said, it opens more comps.

this would only lead to DK, R, M, DH, insert friendlyhealer incase of dungeons

  • you dont want even more RMx by giving both a group stealthing ability

True.

Didn’t think that way but I had another idea because of your reply. What if we’d rework how shroud works and it becomes a bit similar like time warp:
“Extend a cloak that wraps party and raid members within 30 yards in shadows, concealing them from sight.
Allies will be unable to benefit from Shroud of Concealment, Mass Invisibility or similar effects again for 6 min.”
And then introduce Mass Invisibility ability to mages and tradeable craftable items that has similar effect but 20-25 yards range or shorter uptime or longer cd(/debuff time).

If any ranged should get a utility buff it’s Spriests or Demo Wlocks, definitely not a mage that’s already insanely popular.

To be fair, I don’t think rogues should have shroud either.

Not because I care how OP it might or might not be (I have no clue), but because I don’t think it conceptually makes sense.

I don’t see how a rogue standing next to me somehow makes ME magically more skilled at making less noise as I move around.

I don’t think rogues are “magic” classes, but Blizzard seems to consistently think otherwise.

The optimum DPS makeup for high runs is Rogue/DH/Boomkin, so why is it only Rogue that needs to get nerfed? The other two are pretty essential too

Well because DPS currently is not discussed at all.

I believe DH already got some dps nerfs in ptr. They still have +5% magic dmg utility for group, instant aoe stun, sap, purge dispel and interrupt that gives them fury. I’d argue that monk is comparable to DH with all their utility including +5% melee dmg buff, instant aoe stun, sap, dispel and ring of peace/karma.

Booms and rogues are more problematic. Druid has soothe, aoe root, aoe silence and few other niches. Hunters can bring some of the same utility: soothe, aoe slow + single target freezing trap. But not a single other class has aoe silence. Perhaps bring aoe silence for warlock and/or spriest with talent?

All in all, having only one competitive comp is so boring: tank(BDK), cc-dps(havoc), shroud(rogue), lust+/-soothe (mage, boom, hunter) and healer

But we don’t have a raid buff so we need to bring something good :sob::sob:

I am never an advocate of senseless pruning, and pruning shroud would be senseless.

However, it needs a 10 min potion cooldown attached to it. There has to be a (m+) balancing on it.

Having stealth detecting mobs, effectively nerfs it to uselessness.

While not opposed to another class gaining the ability (similar), and alchemists, I don’t see it as necessary, since everyone could just pot.

We don’t have sh** so we need to … Oh nvm we don’t get to the raids because we bring nothing…

Vengeance DH has sigil for AoE silence.

You know utility potions does exists right? No other dps can do that? Well i can do that with my demon hunter by using some potion i bought for 9 gold from ah. If anyone would buy that potion shroud won’t be needed. The reason dh’s and rogues needed in every group was just a balance issue nothing more. Don’t get salty and rage on forums… Stop trying to destroy last bit of class fantasy left on this game.

True. Now buff vengeance a bit more or nerf BDK so I would take them rather than demigod. I know DHs can be good but I still find DKs in their own league. There’s many things that need fixing in m+

I don’t think the problem is the shroud, it’s that people simply just aren’t aware that you can buy/make potions of invisibility in BfA. Which is funny because I recall in Legion no one would run Black Rook Hold without an invis pot for the start skip. Now no one gets them.
Maybe if the potion was flashier and worked like shroud (instead of having to buy one for every player) then people would get it. But that would just kills the class fantasy.

Shroud is OP, because it is a spell with 0 drawbacks, you can even mount and run.

Potion is not OP, because you get a 10 min CD on all other potions, and cannot be mounted.

This is the shortest answer I can give you, read the above comments if you want more details.
