Roleplay Initiative - Suggestion Index and Wishlist

I think the edited post now has most of the things people mentioned that could be worth looking into/adding to the game.

You can always go bigger but one step at a time seems like the way to go.

Props might take some tweaking cause youd have to make sure they dont collide badly and it isn’t abusable in some shape or form but

I feel that changes to how prisms work to be accessable easily (and not time limited), height related potions due to the effect already existing and something similar to inky black for weather effects may all 3 be very simple in terms of time needed to make while offering a immediate positive effect that should revitalize rp big time.

Looking at phasing and housing in terms of rp and other additions could take longer but is worth looking at nontheless due to how much demand there is for it.

Yes yes yes and yes. Thanks

Would give me a reason to think up a bunch of new characters and events to host if I had this to work with or more.

Would still be more than willing to invest a lot of time again if this was implemented.

Likewise, same here.

The lenses JC can make to channel various magical beams, I’d like more of them.
And ranged stance visible for people other than the hunter! And an emote for people to enter battle stances.

Oooh those are good! I’ll make sure to add them

Keeping the first post updated with all the feedback is a neat idea.
Makes it a lot easier to see if some things have been suggested before or not.

That’s a really good one!
Makes me remember how a few hunters switched to a spear instead simply because of combat animations during rp.

Good call on that one. Hopefully makes it ingame.

I really liked the cosmetic personalities in ESO (even though most of them were in the store) and would love to see something like that in WoW. Would add a lot of diversity between characters of the same race

Personalities are a pretty fun feature cause it does directly change walking and idle animations and such to better match what kind of char you play.

Could be tougher for wow because all eso player characters are very similar in shape
may even share the same body rig if you dont count tails and faces.

Not sure how easy that one would be either but its a fun idea regardless.

16 years ago, september 1st 2005 on my birthday, just like it is today, I started playing WoW on a little rp server called Forscherliga

I’ve met so so many fun people along the way, switched to argent dawn years later after cata, found even more friends, and that circle of friends and support I had built is now crumbling like mad and it really freaking hurts

And that’s not cause we had a falling out or anything, it’s cause in terms of rp people burned out eventually after having tried just about everything and all it took was the bad news that finally alienated them from the game completely.

Sorry for the rant or if this sounds silly but, I could use some good news right now and I know that a bunch of those people would return if they felt they were heard and would be considered as well in terms of content/updates having stayed loyal to the game for so long

So here’s a birthday wish to get some of this looked at and put ingame in some form
 cheers.

Nature of the hobby I’m afraid, whether it be tabletop RP, On-line RP, or even LARP, hobbies change, people’s priorities change, whether it be work, having children, or in some cases, like at LARP, they just end up as those ‘Grand old Dames and Dukes’, who have been there for -Decades- (30 years in my case) who have -always been around- and likely will until they get put to bed with a shovel.

People burn out. They either want to carry on, but with a different character, or they just fade away.

But.

For every one that does that, you generally get completely new people giving it a go. And they will ask the questions, and how to RP, and for help, until eventually you see -them- giving advice to Newbies to RP. Without getting all ‘Lion King’ about it, it’s the cycle of life as it were.

They’re the Grand old Dames and Dukes, by then, You? You are become -Legend-.

I saw it last weekend at a 1000+ LARP (responsibly run in these times of plague), and the cool thing is, when you get someone, or a group who is brand new, and everything is wild eyed and new, and you hear a guy who you remembered rocking up when he was 16, still has the nickname of ‘Violent Noob’ (He’s not, he just throws himself into fights like a ballistic missile) and you go “Bloody Hells, he’s 30 now
not a Noob”

And it actually sparks your interest again, you get rid of the jaded old man/woman thing and kind of see it through their eyes, and go, “This -IS- actually pretty damned cool”

Which is why, if WoW ever does die, which despite the Doomsayers it is not, but if it does, it will be RP’ers to be the last ones to turn off the lights and close the door.

We keep it going longer than anyone fickle with just the desire to play an MMO, but we remember it as an MMORPG.

It’s not unusual, it is a natural transition from Older hands passing on the tips to the Newer hands.

Oh, and happy birthday for yesterday!

I would be very happy if they removed transmog restrictions on armor types and world events and if they allowed us to transmog grey and white items. Some of the grey and white items look better with their simplicity and classic design than the epics. They would be wonderful to be able to use them for RP. Currently, a lot of good looking items are white and soulbound.
