[RP] Eastern Kingdoms Rumour Mill

Hello there, I saw the old thread by Meng being locked, thought to make another since the amount of EK RP recently seems to have increased!
This is for all of Eastern Kingdoms, including Stormwind, Quel’thalas and every other zone.

Old thread:

I will start with some myself.

Rumour has it, bunch of Stormwind Footmen has been marching past the Thandol Span in the North as of late, searching for a certain traitor who alligns with the Scourge.

Another rumour speaks of a great battle which occured between those footmen and Scarlet Crusade in Durnholde.

The League of Arathor as of recent had some hasty movements and increased operations. What happened?

An orc by the name of Sagga arrived in Tarren Mill earlier in the week, carrying the charred corpse of a troll named Je’bal, who had been murdered by a handful of dwarves while they were fishing peacefully on the shores of Lake Darrowmere. At least one of the dwarves was seen wearing the colours of the Stormpike Guard.

Beloved, some considered her. Hateful, rageful, emotional… Yet one thing was known… She was caring, hopeful. Caring enough to put her life at risk, in others’ stead, knowing that she may die… Death of herself mattered less than the certain one of innocents.
At Thandol Span, Arathi Highlands, she faced the Scourge Flesh Giant, Strombane on her own, to defend Stromgarde, Khaz Modan and even Stormwind in her company’s pursuit of Justice to chase the traitor Duke, Harland Southridge… Yet, after piercing it’s skull with a holy artifact, she fell down with the Giant, as her blood spilled in the ancient land of Arathor, as as well as it’s sea, as her fall prevented the Giant to be unleashed on Strom and Khaz Modan… The lands of Stromgarde, Khaz Modan, Stormwind and her own home Northshire, even Kul Tiras where she fought restlessly during the war, had fell to mourning, among the residents of the lands who knew her, when the news reaches that:

Nelly Doran, daughter of the great Sir Caloran Doran, has fallen.

A small vanguard of heavily armed mounted blood knights has been spotted roaming between Hinterlands and Hillsbrad Foothills. They are known for attacking trade caravans and various hostile-to-them patrols, in retaliation to a recently peaceful gathering between high, void and blood elves in Seradane. Yells of vengeance and retribution could have been heard, echoing between the mountains.

Rumour and a terse advert in the local Stormwind newspaper(s) has it that Ms. Levey is buying up antiques in bulk. Time to empty out that crowded cellar and/or attic just in time for spring cleaning!

Another town in the North has had to be evacuated due to increased Scourge presence in the area.

(I made this one up, but it serves to remind people of how much presence the Scourge canonically has right now and also to remind us that they’re a constant threat.)

For the first time since the armistice was signed, the roar of Stromgarde’s artillery was heard across the Highlands. The Horde forces in Hammerfall were not warned of the short but fierce volley, and remained on alert throughout the night.

Travel to the city of Stromgarde via Valorcall Pass was temporarily restricted today. Refuge Pointe bustled with held-up merchants before they were, at last, allowed to pass.

At dawn on February 9th, travellers noted that the tower at High Perch was no longer standing. Labourers from the city could be seen wheeling carts of lumber and stone up the hill throughout the coming days.

Word travels up and down the Eastern Kingdoms of a budding alliance; a collection of men and women, both living and dead, seeking to bolster the realm against the threat that the remaining Windrunner loyalists pose, and to any foes waiting in the darkness.

A blind Priest had been noticed around the Cathedral Square shouting, apparently, sermons about a so called “Way of the Justs”, without any kind of sense. Later that night, another wave of Scarlet Renegade propaganda manifests appeared among the Capital City walls. At the dawn, a bunch of hooded men had been sighted taking a secondary path which takes up North.

Brothers and sisters,
Why should we keep to follow the cursed Dathrohan’s legacy? Why should we keep being considered as criminals?
The Scarlet Crusade paid the highest price, to it’s dark descent.
But the times are changing:
Burn the fake pamphlets, set down the diffidence which -destroyed- us all so long ago.
Lordaeron could be rebuilt.
The Scourge could be annihlated.
The sins of our past could be… redeemed.
Light wills it.

A band of humans and dwarves, all armed to the teeth, are seen disembarking from Menethil Harbour for the lands of Kalimdor, speaking excitedly of the Lunar Festival.

A certain Undead Elf, likely a chivalry of death considering her features, has been seen around Ghostlands, Eastern Plaguelands but above all, the Thalassian Pass and surrounding areas. She does not seem hostile to most passengers and at times stands guard or patrolling, affiliation only and only called to be that of Anasterian Sunstrider, the last High King of Quel’thalas.
Surprisingly, she has an old bow and quiver with her, those of Elven Rangers, and may be a familiar face to Rangers of old…

The town of Newstead was all unsettled today (26/02). Supposedly they were expecting to receive a caravan from the west, through Hillsbrad, which would bring many of their brothers, sons and husbands back home. The caravan was due to arrive yesterday (25/02) but hasn’t arrived. What happened?

There has been an increase of Illidari and Demonic activity in Duskwood. Rumour goes that a Felsworn cult must’ve settled in Duskwood or the neighboring regions.

The town of Newstead is in mourning over the news of the loss of eight of their own, which last went out on a transport job between Dun Baldar and Stromgarde several days ago. News spreads to the city of Stromgarde of their murders at the hands of the Forsaken. Funerals are due to take place, but no bodies have been found.

The clashing of steel could be heard tonight (28/02) from the road south of Tarren Mill. The undead watchers at Eastpoint Tower report seeing a group of human knights travelling westwards with an envoy’s flag, and returning some time later without it.

A piece of parchment rests on a table in Stromgarde’s feasting hall. It reads, in heavy handwriting:

I, Baroness Sallien Harrow of Stormwind, do hereby vouchsafe and confirm that I am not, never have been and never shall be a member of any draconic race OR allegiance, including but certainly not limited to SALAMANDERS, whelps, drakes, wyrms of any colour.

It is signed by the Lady Harrow.

Some Stromic citizens now have been paranoid about a Dragon among them, a southern Dragon? Surely not…

Following that, in some tavern gatherings in Arathi the tales of legendary Dragons and their slayers was said, bringing the old memories back for some veterans, including those of Second War.

Strange mounds of dirt have emerged in the south-west of Tirisfal Glades in the aftermath of a conflict between Scarlet Crusaders and their unknown opponents, which resulted in several burned-down farms, with dead farmers and crusaders both.

Strangely, a few of the crusaders had been disfigured post-mortem, and parts of their armour stripped seemingly at random.

There have been reports of an increase in naga activity along the coast of Hillsbrad, grounds of the Daggerspine Tribe.

The corpse of a man—a scavenger, perhaps—is left to rot in one of Southshore’s old homes. The town, although already a ruin, has been thoroughly ransacked, with old wardrobes, desks, chairs and tables smashed apart.

There must have been a small altercation not far from Tyr’s Hand, a dead horse lays skewered on a spear in the middle of the road.
