[RP-PvP Campaign] OPERATION: TIRAGARDE - CONCLUDED!

Can you join without being apart of a guild?

I was precisely hoping Iā€™d find something like this on the forums, glad I caught it just in time. If thereā€™s room for Alliance individuals:

Name: Sedrick Walton
OOC Name: Blackholdt

Alliance individual.

Name: Naariel
OOC name: Naariell

Alliance individual

Individuals are welcome. However, I want to point out that currently there is a significant gap between Alliance and Horde sign-ups, and may ask individuals to stay out of fights due to this. Itā€™s unfortunate that it has come to this but itā€™s clear that one sideā€™s a little bit more bloodthirsty than the other :frowning:

Yeah that sounds like an RP-PvP campaign alright. Horde is always the underdog. I hope you guys can still have fun and enjoy yourselves though despite that!

Once upon a lifetime, there were two factions in the world of Azeroth. One of them was a group full of murderous individuals, hellbent on global conquest and just destroying everything in itā€™s path, and they were absolutely barbaric in every sense of the word. The other faction was the Horde.

Iā€™d have signed up for this but given that the Alliance is rather full, Iā€™ll sit this out. Still, hopefully there will be more someday, I do remember clashing with you lot back at the start of Shadowlands Tharzog! ( I was tagging along with the Lionheart back then.) Goodluck with the campaign!

The hope is that this may revitalise some RP-PvP fun thatā€™s been sorely lacking! Old hatreds donā€™t die off so easily, after all.

Letā€™s hope so! It could be interesting from a narrative standpoint to try and deal with the fact you still fought the opposing faction despite there being an official ceasefire now!

WAR?! Bombs go off at various places in Falconhurst, Aromā€™s Stand, and Corlaine. Two ships flying no colours are taking fire at the coastal town of Falconhurst with combatants - pirates and mercenaries - soon landing and battling with the local guards. Patrols throughout eastern Drustvar are ambushed by bandits who posed as traders from before. A lot of noise is made and it does not go unnoticed. Boralus is notified of this daring assault and a large contingent of soldiers is sent to Drustvar to fend off these craven mercenaries! All eyes are looking westā€¦

THE CAMPAIGN STARTS TOMORROW!

What can you expect? Battles every day. We aim to kick hostilities off at 8:00 PM so make sure to be there in advance, though if need be it may take a bit longer to ensure numbers and groups are properly divided.

We are looking at 2-3 battles for objectives going on simultaneously per night, again depending on numbers.

MAP

The map highlights the various zones where the Horde and Alliance will fight each other. The Points of Interest are as follows:

BASES

Horde

  • Plunder Harbor

Alliance

  • Boralus
  • Vigil Hill

RESOURCES

Northern Tiragarde

  • Algerson Lumber Yard (wood)
  • Anglepoint Wharf (fish/food)

Southern Tiragarde

  • Abandoned Junkheap (technology)
  • Winterdeep Mining Camp (iron/azerite)
  • Ashvane Foundry (weaponry)

BATTLE SITES
Northern Tiragarde

  • Foxhollow Woods

Southern Tiragarde

  • Greystone Keep
  • Southwind Station
  • Deathmist Hills

What are Battle Sites?

Battle Sites are locations of strategic importance, fighting over them will not result in any resources being won over but it does allow the victor to gain a stronger (if temporary) foothold as the conflict rages on.

In the case of a Horde victory, it would limit Alliance movement and force them to attack and recapture the position in order to divide their forces properly.

What if I want to fight after the main battles?

Nothing is stopping you from doing late-night skirmishes if you wish. The main battles, however, are the only ones resulting in objective wins and we aim to have those done in maximum one hour.

DAY ONE RECAP

Good morning everyone!

Last night we kicked off the start of the campaign with two battles - one at Greystone Keep, and one at the Winterdeep Mining Camp!

With the element of surprise in their favour, the Horde managed to hit and occupy both locations before Alliance reinforcements could arrive. This proved instrumental in the victory of the Horde at Greystone Keep, who not only held their position but left a nasty surprise behind, rendering the Keep momentarily useless. The fallen defenders of Greystone have been raised as mindless undead and now hold the location.

The battle for Winterdeep Mining Camp proved to be less conclusive, as both sides were battered and beaten (with an explosive Azerite-fueled finish to boot!). The Alliance had to retreat, but not shortly afterwards the Horde did so as well as their injuries were too severe. The Azerite vein that was discovered by the Horde forces remains untapped and seemingly ripe for the takingā€¦

The Hordeā€™s presence has been noted, but given that a large number of Kul Tirasā€™ forces are presently in Drustvar, it falls upon the collection of Alliance-aligned units to beat back this raid before they can do too much damage.

DAY TWO STARTS TODAY!

(Updated map with names as itā€™s not so easy for others to navigate otherwise!)

FOR INTERESTED HORDE ATTENDANTS.

Keep in mind that Plunder Harbor is PHASED if you havenā€™t done the war campaign intro quest. This takes about 10-20 minutes to do, depending on if you unlocked Zandalar or not.

  • Quest 1: Battle for Azeroth: Mission Statement (picked up from Nathanos in zuldazar, but you can also start it from the heroā€™s call board)
    Talk to Sylvanas
Walk into the Orgrimmar inn to meet your team
  • Quest 2: The Stormwind Extraction
Talk to Nathanos again after picking up the quest to skip the scenario and go straight to Zuldazar
  • Quest 3: Welcome to Zuldazar
Walk with Talanji across the pier
  • Quest 4: Rastakhan
Fly on the pterodactyl up to the Great Seal to meet Rastakhan
  • Quest 5: Speaker of the Horde
Talk to guard Zolanji up on the platform, behind the king and walk with them, then follow the markers on your map to explore the great seal, you do not need to wait for the dialogue. Wait for Talanji to walk up to the scouting map in the great seal afterwards and then turn it in at her.

After turning in the quest, pick up any Zone quest on the scouting map in front of you, you donā€™t need to do this quest. Instead, talk to Nathanos next to the scouting map and pick up the quest he offers called: ā€œThe War Campaignā€

Once turning it in, do not accept the follow-up ā€œThe War Cacheā€ but instead talk to Nathanos again and accept ā€œThe Kul Tiras Campaignā€: Select Tirigarde Sound on the war campaign map in front of you, turn in the quest and then accept ā€œShiver Me Timbersā€. Youā€™re now progressing unlocking the Tirigarde Sound parts of the map!

Yeah @Ironwyrm and @Faith had no chance soon as both Ashenā€™s came together :smirk: :handshake:

All in all for a first RP-PVP event & campaign everything went really smooth. Communication between the leaders and the members! I can say that I had an amazing time and the banter was great!

The pushing and stalling between the two factions and the lilā€™ Dwarfy bois erupting in their mole machines. Was a great time and a blast! I can say Iā€™m looking forward to hearing about tonightā€™s proceedes as well! Good luck squires!

Might need to deal with your driver and pilot in that case. Tell him to stop drinking on the job!

Tiragarde has proven an ideal testing ground for the shocktroops tactics employed by the Dark Iron Clanā€™s Anvilrage Legion - the southern territories are littered with ground-up topsoil and rocky surfaces where Mole Machines have previously emerged and disengaged. The Sixth Cohort has brought the storm again and again, checking the enemy incursion many times despite a rocky (heh) beginning.

Personally, Iā€™ve enjoyed the campaign immensely so far, with cool interactions in and outside of the main battles. Canā€™t wait to see it through over the coming days!

Fire and Iron, ladsā€¦

Days 2, 3 and 4 Recap!

Apologies for the delay in updating everyone, turns out real life/work and managing a campaign leaves little time for forum post updates!

The battles across Tirisgarde have been raging on, with varying results on both sides. On the second day, the battle shifted further west with a focus on Southwind Station that the Horde managed to capture from the Alliance. A return from the Horde to Winterdeep Mining Camp resulted in, unfortunately, their first proper loss as they were driven out by the Alliance.

The following day, things seemed to get even worse for the invading forces as Kul Tiras was able to provide the defending forces with some reinforcements in the form of a warship. The Horde fought to defend Southwind Station and attempted to sink the large ship, yet lost on both fronts pretty decisivelyā€¦ Renewed with their victories, the Alliance planned to strike further east to drive the invaders into a corner.

Luck seemed to turn last night for the Horde, however! A new battle raged on in Ashvane Foundry as the Horde sought to capture it and loot what weapons and ammunition remained there. They succeeded and set up camp within, providing an extra obstacle for the Alliance to cross should they seek to assault Plunder Harbor.

Another group dealt with the pirates of Freehold, attempting to win over their support to extend their campaign in Tiragarde. They were sent to retrieve a mysterious machine that was found in the Abandoned Junkheap, which had become the site of a new and interesting conflict. The Dark Iron dwarves and forces of the Alliances clashed over the secrecy maintained around the dwarven mole machine. Soon enough, it became a three-way battle with the Horde successful. They stole not the machine but a strange hammer that was at the core of a monstreous beast hidden inside the mole machine.

Now, the pirates of Freehold see an opportunity for riches and entertainment and send an invitation to all three sidesā€¦

THE CAPTAINS OF FREEHOLD INVITE YOU FOR A GRAND FEAST!

Honoured recipient,

Rejoice as the captains of Freehold invite you and your allies to celebrate a momentous occasion. A familiar conflict has returned to these shores and we have been invited to partake in it. Now is your chance to represent your faction or make that purchase you always wanted - we assure you our wares are ready to sweep you off your feet as if a fiery hammer had struck them!

As ever, we are fair with our demands for our aid. Come armed, but do not draw your steel unless asked. We promise an eventful evening that will sate your lust for blood and meaningful results.

On the 7th of this month - today - at thirty past the eight bell in the evening we shall commence our talks with me as speaker of the council. We shall meet due west of Freehold itself, upon the ridge that leads towards the bridge.

I look forward to your arrival.

Signed,
The Captain of the Lady of Crestfall
Brutus

Todayā€™s the last day of the campaign! Weā€™ve had some good fights, some skirmishes, some classic old betrayals and twists and turns and itā€™s all coming to a head in a few hours.

You ask me, I reckon itā€™s time for the Horde to skedaddle, pardner :cowboy_hat_face:

As mentioned by Clovus, todayā€™s the last day! But before we get to that, a brief recap of the past few days.

CAMPAIGN RECAP

The meeting with the pirates in Freehold didnā€™t quite go as expected for either side, with an honourable duel declared from the Allianceā€™s representative to the Hordeā€™s. It was accepted but soon after the pirates changed the rules which turned a noble duel to a bloody brawl in which the Alliance ended up victorious in!

Yet an alliance was not secured as the Horde came with the news that the Dark Iron dwarves had gassed the one way into Freehold. Both sides threw accusations at one another, but in the end, the pirates demanded the dwarves before they were willing to commit.

The following day, a new battle was fought over the Ashvane Foundry with no decisive victor, which left the place a no manā€™s land that was partially ravaged by cannon fire. The Horde had almost lost it due to part of its forces seeking to burn down the Algerson Lumber Yard in an attempt to distract the Allianceā€¦ yet it proved to not be effective. They returned and managed to beat back some of the Alliance forces.

Yesterday, a large skirmish was fought around Southwind Station. A final attempt from the Horde to try and weaken the Alliance while also preparing their departure from Kul Tiras. Time was, after all, running out with the nation of Kul Tiras finally able to turn its gaze away from Drustvar to Tiragarde.

THE FINAL DAY

A lone ship sits in Plunder Harbor, the Hordeā€™s likely escape from the island. Yet what they may not have anticipated was that a blockade of four Kul Tiran vessels waited just outside, ready to intercept them should they try to escape if the ground forces proved to be too overwhelming.

Soldiers of Kul Tirasā€™ army have reinforced most of the important areas of Tiragarde Sound except for one locationā€¦

Ashvane Foundry remains a no manā€™s land for now, the damaged buildings a reminder of the battles that were fought within it. It will be the Allianceā€™s first obstacle to cross before making the final push into Plunder Harbor.

OPERATION: TIRAGARDE CONCLUSION!

On the last day, the Horde and Alliance clashed a final time on Kul Tiran soil!

A large attack was launched, with various chokepoints at Ashvane Foundry being fought over as the first stage of the assault. Slowly but surely, the Alliance pushed the Horde back. It was clear that the Horde was stalling them as their ship was being readied for departure.

A brief blockade later, caused by fallen rocks, and the Alliance fought the Horde within Plunder Harbor. They had them dead to rights but there was a final surprise waiting for the Alliance - the harbor was rigged with explosives, intending to take out the Alliance and give the Horde forces a brief window to escape the devastation.

In the chaos, the Horde got onto their ships but several Kul Tiran vessels awaited them. To the Alliance, the Horde all died when the ship was sunk but with the aid of the magi present, they actually teleported out and further south. Another ship awaited them not too far from Freehold which carried them back to Zandalar.

Now, Kul Tiras focuses on rebuilding the areas that were struck and demanding an answer from the Horde for this cowardly attack. Will this be the end of the hostilities, or will there be more?

The only day that I attended (sadly due to work) was very based.

Thanks to Augustus and Nate for amazing blood knight vs human paladin vibes, and also Tharzog for hosting it! :100:
