[RP-PVP] Rumble in the Jungle - Unfortunately Cancelled

Hi,

after chatting with the host, we have come to the agreement of hosting a campaign elsewhere to cover for the already signed up and reserved dates while leaving the option for the former host to eventually run their campaign in STV.

Please stay tuned, announcement soon.

Love,

Morsteth

Fortunate son plays quietly in the background

Hosting a campaign for so many people can be daunting at first but at the end of the day we are a RP community and it’s been really fun seeing so many people get hyped about this.

I’m happy to help with organising if a cover campaign is being decided.

Understandable decision and, for me, it only shows your dedication to deliver quality and to make this a great campaign for all. Thank you for the talks and keeping us and our Zul’Gurub hub in mind – also big thumbs-up to Morsteth and others who are planning a new campaign without running off with Takkihira’s idea. Best of luck, all!

That is very unfortunate Takk, but you’re decision is respectable! Will be looking forward to seeing it excecuted later

Enjoy yourself and have fun

While this is a shame to hear, I understand the reasoning behind it and it’s all cool. It’s indeed a rather daunting thing to host a campaign of this size, especially if its your first time.

I do hope to eventually attend this in the future! Props to you Takki!

There are a some folks on this server that complained about previous campaigns (whether rp-pve or rp-pvp), saying that they would be far better organisers then anyone ever could
but they never took the oppertunity to do so.

You on the other hand asked for interest, shared ideas of a theme of a campaign and beliefs of how such things could be done within said campaign. You took the charge but unfortunately have decided to cancel it.

And theres no shame in that, rather then letting yourself crumble under the immense pressure you knew what was the right descision to do now. As you said you still have these pieces to put together a campaign for the future, and when that time comes it will be an awesome campaign for a lot of people to enjoy. One that the community will remember for years and keep bringing up in forums such as this one.

Keep your head high Takki, and thank you for your honesty and your dedication. We’ll still be here for your future campaign.

Thank you everyone - cancelling it wasn’t something I wanted to do, but ultimately something that I had to. I’m extremely relieved that the response has been so understanding.

As Morsteth has said, an alternative campaign will be ran elsewhere for those who’re interested. I’ll be adding a link to it when the campaign thread is posted.
Hope to see you all soon.

Me and my friend will still attend regardless, we want to show our support for the campaign and still attend.

It was a great idea to begin with and it is nice to see their will be an alternative campaign to this elsewhere. Look forward to it.

Keep us signed up for when you try this again ok :cowboy_hat_face::smoking:

Totally understandable Takkihira, when you do eventually revisit it (or the steps leading to it) if you ever want any support / coaching in how to manage a campaign get in touch! There’s lots of people eager to be a safety net of support for our community <3

I respect your honesty and eagerly await the second coming of this event.

Always best to consider what you feel you can do, and also what you want to do.
You’re under no obligation to drive yourself to lunacy to provide some RP for people, seriously. You won’t be on your deathbed, lamenting that you didn’t do that Stranglethorn event in May 2019.

So no worry! It’s cool! Do some smaller, low key things and get the confidence up up. We’ll still be here!

So easy to earn respect nowadays

Someone who goes out of their way to create an environment for hundreds of people to interact and have fun for a few days, despite it being as the OP stated as stressful and maybe even a bit overwhelming? Yeah I respect that, unlike your negligible and condescending comment.

Feel like you’d be the same person vague posting about the campaign if it did happen and turned out bad

A campaign of this scale will always be a bit much for one person to manage, imo.

Perhaps you could do a Stranglethorn RP event with a handful of people over a two week period?

Doesn’t have to be on the scale of a campaign. I’ve always thought a group of adventurers being hunted in the jungle would be an excellent narrative to try in WoW.
