[RP PVP] Theatres of War: Ports in the Storm

Numbers will not ever be lacking to the point that people who aren’t signed up will get to fight

People can turn up and RP but anyone who isn’t on the list and by total / very convenient accident joins the PVP under any circumstances will hopefully just be killed repeatedly as if they were any other kind of griefer

So please to everyone attending make sure to check the sign-up list to make sure you’re on there before ending any fights. It’s time to stop the trend of campaigns struggling and ending early because people decide that the sign-ups list is optional

(If you’re playing an alt on the same faction as your signed up character please get it OK’d by an organiser to avoid any confusion)

Hello everyone,

Sign ups for RP-PVP are now fully up to date (sorry for the delay, ) and are officially closed.

Please ensure you check the list to make sure you and/or your guild are on the list before engaging in any RP-PVP over the campaign, as anyone not signed up who ends up in either zone will be bursted down with extreme prejudice. You are free to turn up for camp RP etc without being targeted but do be aware that it will be an active zone and PVP is very likely at any time.

Catch you on the rift!

I’m sorry for the short notice but the Tideforged Corsairs won’t be attending this campaign.

Unrestricted Purge Squad Zone - DEATHHOLME (starting on the 2nd)

The necrotic ruins of Deathholme, still crawling with mindless undead, hold many dark secrets. Ancient artifacts lie buried in the bone-dust and rubble - bygone relics and the dark artifices of Dar’Khan’s acolytes that can be captured and turned against the enemy…

Starting at 8pm - each army (/zone) group can select up to 6 people each (for a total of 12, maximum 3 healers) which will battle in Deathholme in a best of 3 format with no restrictions

The winners will be able to recover a relic (decided by a roll on a table I will post in the evening) from the infested ruins, granting them various exciting bonuses to be used in the next day’s restricted battle

<Attending to the desk of each Alliance Commander heading to the Ghostlands>
To whom it may concern,

Your presence will be required as stated during the meeting at Aerie Peak on the 30th of April. Where we will go over manoeuvres, squads, the mission detail for entry into the Ghostlands and how we will be setting up and maintaining our supply lines whilst covering our command structure during this assignment. This will proceed at twenty one hundred hours and will be mandatory. If you cannot make it, please sent your next highest ranking officer.

Additionally I am still requiring letters from each of you detailing your troop count you’ll be bringing to the front line so I can accurately assign Squads and troops and determine how many platoons we will be having. This in addition is mandatory, please see that these letters arrive before tonight.

Yours, Acting Force-Commander Willowheart.

<Posted up on the walls around the Aerie Peak for all to see>

Tomorrow we push into the Ghostlands. We will be arriving there by ship. All forces are to be reminded that they require their mountain climbing equipment, frogman suits and be ready to march due east from Aerie Peak. We will sail north, arrive at the mountains to the east of the Ghostlands. Scale the mountains then go underwater, sticking to the lakes until we make it close enough to our target that the Sin’dorei won’t see our forces arriving.

This is to remain of -upmost- secret and this information -cannot- reach enemy hands. Sticking to the stream between Eversong and Ghostlands is the most optimal way to get to our target undetected whilst the main Horde forces are fighting in the Plaguelands.

Force Commander Willowheart.

Just a quick update on my side: I am unsure if I will be able to attend to tonight’s RP-PVP should there be one. I might only be around for camp RP. However, that is probably good news for the organizers as that is one less individual to worry about. I am sorry about the hassle.

DAY 1, MORNING

THE EASTWEALD

In the ruins of New Avalon, a vanguard of Horde soldiers - mainly Forsaken - have already arrived and now prepare the crumbling garrison for their allies arrival. A senior peon foreman briefly tours the ruins in the early hours, inspecting the state of the fallen city and figuring out how much of it can be salvaged for the Horde’s plan.

The Alliance prepare for their two-pronged counter-attack back in Stormwind - with a small fleet of ships made ready in the harbour, packed to the brim with munitions, supplies and curious gnomish equipment.

THE GHOSTLANDS

Shalandis Isle is made ready for the Alliance’s arrival, with a small presence of void elf guerrillas and night elven spies making some piecemeal repairs to the dock.

The Horde’s forces begin to gather at Tranquillien, on high alert with rumours of the Alliance incursion now conveyed to them by skulking deathstalkers.

DEATHHOLME PURGE SQUAD LOOT TABLE - 1d6

(1) Abominable Flensing Hook

A blood-stained hook wreathed in dark runes, rumoured to have been used in the creation of the twin terrors of the Ghostlands, Knucklerot and Lurzan. It is latched to a sturdy chain and can drag even the heaviest targets with ease.

A death knight given this item can use death grip in restricted battles as they can any other “legal” ability (though they should appropriately roleplay hurling the hook out etc when they do so)

(2) Ancient Manuscript: Of the Darkening, ch. VI

A crumbling piece of parchment written in some variant of gutterspeak. The ink is smeared and the author was obviously quite mad - rambling at length about forgotten sceptres, auspices and rituals.

At the end, a phrase in a forgotten tongue has been circled in blood: OGH’IWN UULL IWHUK H’IWN

_Those with the affinity for dark magic can deduce that this is some sort of invocation for a powerful curse which appears to blot out the very sun in the minds of the enemy for a small while.

_This object may hold religious significance for worshippers of the shadow.

This manuscript can be used to force the enemy faction in one of the two theatres (Eastweald/Ghostlands) to use the Inky Darkness potions for a day.

(3) Magister’s Wand of Blasting

An old wand looted from one of the slain defenders of Silvermoon during the third war. It is badly damaged and will soon crumble to dust, but while it remains it can unleash blast powerful enough to knock entire companies about a few times.

This allows the user to use an appropriate AoE knockback (ring of peace, hunter trap etc) three times. Please announce when the charges are being used to an organiser so we can keep count

(4) Ancient Pterrordax Standard

An ancient relic of the Zandalari Empire before it’s decline - probably carried to Zul’aman by long-forgotten legions. For the Horde to capture this will win them prestige in Zul’dazar - where the loss of such a standard is considered a great humiliation… humiliation that will increase tenfold if the Alliance manage to take it as a trophy.

No mechanical effect but may have some relevance to any troll characters / NPCs / the ending

(5) Scourgelord’s Animus

A withered staff topped with a chattering skull. Though it’s powers are long expended, mindless Scourge remnants who see it seem calmed and even pliable.

Scourge NPCs can be roleplayed as neutral until attacked by the wielder.

(6) Profane Sigil: Deathgate

A glowing dark rune that can beckon forth a large deathgate, wide enough for one group to cross.

This can be used once to instantly swap a guild between theatres without travel time.

RESTRICTED RULES:

The usual fare:

1 attack / 5 sec

No stuns / knockbacks / grips / saps etc. Basically no CC but slows

No AoE

No big damage abilities like chaos bolt, greater pyro et al

Don’t run through people and try to be mindful of what your character can realistically do (ie. it isn’t mega cool to tank 8 guys as one character IC)

OK, cya later today gamers. Don’t forget your crossfaction potions / join the discord

A few, tatty copies of a poster have been pre-emptively tacked around the buildings of the Horde’s base. Grimace seemingly took advantage of the night’s peace and quiet before the bulk of the main forces arrived.
