DAY 1, MORNING
THE EASTWEALD
In the ruins of New Avalon, a vanguard of Horde soldiers - mainly Forsaken - have already arrived and now prepare the crumbling garrison for their allies arrival. A senior peon foreman briefly tours the ruins in the early hours, inspecting the state of the fallen city and figuring out how much of it can be salvaged for the Horde’s plan.
The Alliance prepare for their two-pronged counter-attack back in Stormwind - with a small fleet of ships made ready in the harbour, packed to the brim with munitions, supplies and curious gnomish equipment.
THE GHOSTLANDS
Shalandis Isle is made ready for the Alliance’s arrival, with a small presence of void elf guerrillas and night elven spies making some piecemeal repairs to the dock.
The Horde’s forces begin to gather at Tranquillien, on high alert with rumours of the Alliance incursion now conveyed to them by skulking deathstalkers.

DEATHHOLME PURGE SQUAD LOOT TABLE - 1d6
(1) Abominable Flensing Hook
A blood-stained hook wreathed in dark runes, rumoured to have been used in the creation of the twin terrors of the Ghostlands, Knucklerot and Lurzan. It is latched to a sturdy chain and can drag even the heaviest targets with ease.
A death knight given this item can use death grip in restricted battles as they can any other “legal” ability (though they should appropriately roleplay hurling the hook out etc when they do so)
(2) Ancient Manuscript: Of the Darkening, ch. VI
A crumbling piece of parchment written in some variant of gutterspeak. The ink is smeared and the author was obviously quite mad - rambling at length about forgotten sceptres, auspices and rituals.
At the end, a phrase in a forgotten tongue has been circled in blood: OGH’IWN UULL IWHUK H’IWN
_Those with the affinity for dark magic can deduce that this is some sort of invocation for a powerful curse which appears to blot out the very sun in the minds of the enemy for a small while.
_This object may hold religious significance for worshippers of the shadow.
This manuscript can be used to force the enemy faction in one of the two theatres (Eastweald/Ghostlands) to use the Inky Darkness potions for a day.
(3) Magister’s Wand of Blasting
An old wand looted from one of the slain defenders of Silvermoon during the third war. It is badly damaged and will soon crumble to dust, but while it remains it can unleash blast powerful enough to knock entire companies about a few times.
This allows the user to use an appropriate AoE knockback (ring of peace, hunter trap etc) three times. Please announce when the charges are being used to an organiser so we can keep count
(4) Ancient Pterrordax Standard
An ancient relic of the Zandalari Empire before it’s decline - probably carried to Zul’aman by long-forgotten legions. For the Horde to capture this will win them prestige in Zul’dazar - where the loss of such a standard is considered a great humiliation… humiliation that will increase tenfold if the Alliance manage to take it as a trophy.
No mechanical effect but may have some relevance to any troll characters / NPCs / the ending
(5) Scourgelord’s Animus
A withered staff topped with a chattering skull. Though it’s powers are long expended, mindless Scourge remnants who see it seem calmed and even pliable.
Scourge NPCs can be roleplayed as neutral until attacked by the wielder.
(6) Profane Sigil: Deathgate
A glowing dark rune that can beckon forth a large deathgate, wide enough for one group to cross.
This can be used once to instantly swap a guild between theatres without travel time.
