[RP PVP] Theatres of War: Wetlands -- The Red Flood

I enjoyed large parts of this Event, it was very well made and I had a blast. Bantering, fighting and objectives to complete. Defense and offense. Unfortunately, I hated the last part of the Hinterlands. The Ritual part was not executed properly and became incredibly frustrating when we were getting Nuked. Yes, I get it, the Trolls were immortal super strong warriors thanks to the Loa or the ritual, whatever. Could have been executed so that instead of having us literally FLEE the battle, we’d have been overwhelmed by the champions while still fighting to the point where the Alliance had to retreat, battling throughout the City. Being forced to the Gates. The one sided part of that Ritual where we were just overrun ruined it for alot of people on the Alliance. What could have become an epic comeback from the Trolls was completely ruined by this idea.

Otherwise, like I said, I enjoyed the Event.

The Alliance lost, or at least a stalemate. It was a wonderful event despite the spit in the Wetlands, it all went somewhat great. My guild enjoyed it nonetheless.

Thank you all for a great campaign, and great roleplay!

Note: If you ever need a map maker, poke me.

Due to the fact that simple Raid Warnings are often ignored, the officers and campaign managers in the Discord agreed upon the idea that the few empowered trolls with clear growth potions and spectral visages would RP-walk towards people before going unrestricted.
Also, they specifically avoided trying to kill anyone, instead bringing people to low health and letting them run. They also avoided CC altogether.

My question is more why the Alliance officers agreed to the idea if they were opposed to the outcome.

Personally, I feel if the mechanic hadn’t been used, then the battle would’ve continued as it was with the Alliance mostly ignoring the empowered players due to the mechanics of RP-PvP.

So you feel bad because you got stomped IC and didn’t get to feel heroic enough? This is a very weird complaint:

considering that the troll side was more than accommodating when the very crazy  accidental kills came from the Alliance while coming up.

Because I don’t think killing a mythic-geared warrior with 310k HP in 2.3 seconds is accidental. Three times.

No. I don’t give a hoot about being Heroic. The outcome of the ritual was simply not executed in the EPIC manner I had anticipated. It felt too rushed. That’s what my complaint is about.

Far as I noticed it seemed the Horde had a very big lack of Healers. The first wave was literally us cutting through without much resistance. Definitely not something I enjoyed. I will give you that it was improperly done by whichever people were Nuking this player. I’ll apologise on behalf on the A**hats that did it, though it may not mean poo.

Hey there, As one of the three people who was incharge of the ritual IC, I cannot possibly imagine why you’d feel it was rushed, as throughout the entire RP, there was raid warnings both side as well as a good thirteen or so of us out of the RP itself to do the ritual and focus entirely on that roleplay, It was broadcasted through both attending factions as well as with a great deal of preparing IC for the days prior to this.

I will correct myself then. The ensuing battle. Might aswell have finished the ritual and told us to get the roppi’n out of the City, Ignoring anything akin to actually getting us to feel like we’re being pushed back, not slaughtered. Took the fun out of it.

I am getting different vibes over here, chief.

Well One part of me for once did like to do Rp-pvp again. Sadly in the end was so laggy and all colors made my laptop react like… Rainbow and had no clue where I was or could move enough quick. I saw the RW yes but as healer I could not do much about it.

It should have been more time for us to react on Ally side before all was just nuked down. BUt at least can thank you all to get my interest into rp-pvp back. =)

It’s not fun being on either end of that poop (swearing filter my gosh). However, the battle post ritual was scripted to my understanding, making it more frustrating.

It was pretty epic for the parties involved, considering the coordinated slowmo walks, coordinated yells, and conveyed raid warnings (it took some effort on my part to coordinate those, yknow). When a dozen NPCed spirits (ty Rotgarde) & another dozen empowered champions came crashing down while the final straws of a very-tired troll resistance were beginning to fail, I see the conclusion to days of storymaking & planning a resounding success.

So what’s the problem, help me understand. It didn’t feel epic because you were forced to flee? But fleeing was also what you would have done anyway…?

For those not there… This is what happened : - )

I understand, it was hard, I enjoyed much of the event. You certainly did good work, and I’m sure had I been on the Horde side I would have understood what you thought was so epic about the last battle. But, understand that it was only epic for the Horde. I had been away from RP-PvP for months, and this is the ending I came back to. Frustration sets in. Not to mention, by the time the champions reached the exit of the Ritual area, it became a sprint after alliance forces, not a walk. A very " GO FOR THE KILL " moment instead of " YOU STAND NO CHANCE " which you seemed to want to convey.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, you got the chance to let off some steam with that unrestricted at the end. Take away the good RP from the campaign, and get ready for the next one.

Honestly, things will never go as planned for everyone. So it’s best to just roll with it, and enjoy the RP it’s created. I for example have to look forward to Theon getting his neck healed up over the week.

gotta echo the Horde side ritual here.

There was quite a bit of preparation being done on our side and a lot of work put in, with so much raid warnings being thrown to illustrate the effects of the ritual at hand.

In this instance, I don’t really think it’s the fault of the manages - both sides - if these factors are ignored. Because to do more is to simply go with the saying of serving it all up on a silver platter with nothing in return.

I can definitely understand and forgive the letting off steam after that bullhonkey advance up the City. RP-PvP’s core to me is the longer standing battles, banter and being both pushed back and getting to push. It creates intense and involving moments.

Oh so you just missed the total 4 days of solid Alliance victories.

People were warned that the ““ritual powers”” would disappear if we ventured too far off the city, so we formed a line a bit outside the gates. Considering I coordinated the run/walking: we walked throughout the entire city (12 min walk btw) and then ran past the gate to stop.

It’s very interesting however that you’d say all this considering that it was your own guild that turned around towards that same line, popped a Frozen Orb, and began nuking us at the end (killing many people)—it just really felt like you couldn’t swallow down a solid loss. I wanted to keep that dirt out, but maybe you need to be reminded?

Well I would say it was a great idea. But it needed more time. Spec when it was some kind of lagging. I had no chance to move before my screen was filled with colors, 2 huge players and other Horde that took the chance to nuke me down. But hey NEXT time we will dance on your grave

yeah, this wasn’t cool to experience.

at all.

im not sure what the purpose of it was for, but i guess being wiped off once again this time with the unrestricted label was enough?
