[RP PVP] Theatres of War: Wetlands -- The Red Flood

So we have Vash the Loa of Wolves…Kump the Loa of Ladders and Dudflex the loa of Forums.

Ironically i have the Wolfhead on my head, and have been called X of forums many times…

But sure, aside from being the Scumlord, I’ll be your loa of Ladders. You can worship me and build ladders to the skies… To fortune… To glory and adversity and… Shining through history…

We’ll need a few snakes to counter the ladders next time.

well despite the fact koriane nearly died it was a pretty epic campaign and quite a ways more enjoyable than the last couple, even if very little ground was gained. i actually wanna thank tellingsworth and merissa for not doing too much damage when i attacked them on my 114 nightborne, made it a ton more enjoyable for me and i hope for them too

Ah sh*t, here we go again

Unironically this.

I know that some people don’t like / aren’t interested in content. There has been no complains to my knowledge about the gear difference in Loch Modan, but getting to atleast 400 ilvl (Or 430 in 8.2, in due time) is highly recommended and does not require much time spent at all.

Take this as a word of advice, everyone. It’s a favour to all, if you go and get some gear as it will balance things in the long run.

The RP-PVP in Modan was overall nice, if you except the few moments we were getting -bursted- by a few people and/or superior numbers. Most people were good sport and had some interesting interactions to have with /emotes .

Cuddles to Koiffen for the duel, Bergington for the empathy, Hatenest for giving me rage, Apawi for praising the sun and all the other hordies i did not name. Alliance side, thanks to Rhyn, Alin, the whole Heart of Oak crew and especially Polemus for allowing me to have a sliver of camp rp that wasn’t “lol u stanky undead gtfo or be burnt”.

I do wonder if there still will be some rp tonight for Alliance in Modan, because the ending felt kinda… Not an ending. Lacking closure, if you get what i mean.

Agreed and not exactly opposed; but wouldn’t an easier solution be an ilvl cap?

Instead of ‘being as high as possible in order to not get mullered’ it’d put everyone on even footing.

The number 1 argument against this is super duper valid in that griefers have an easier time causing havoc, which is very true, but the salt and hate is better off going outwards than inwards.

Scourge fieeeeeend!

Fixed it for you !

Day 1 there were griefers in the late eve, a whole group of them. Bad players, for sure. But they were enough to impart a negative effect on the roleplayers involved.

There’s no need to aim for 415+ as some of us do. Being around 390-405 will spare you the trouble of dying easily, making RP-PvP much more enjoyable. Something to note aswell is that if either side are low on healers / have sub 150k hp players they will inevitably die due to crossfire, whether AoE is banned or not.

Edit:
The respective ilvls to 390-405 in 8.2 will lie around 420-435 and will be quite easily achievable with new implementations such as Benthic gear and changes to profession items.

Yeah, true.

Griefers will always be an issue no matter how we slice the cake.

Might be worth doing some quick testiing to gauge the damage output of certain spells/abilities in order to ascertain what is and isn’t burst - because I’ve noticed a lot people complaining about burtsing when it really wasn’t. And to follow that up a soft-recommended ilvl whereby it’s easy to point to it when someone cries sheep and says they were bursted.

Edit: By which I mean, the recommended ilvl is posted in the thread from the get go.

Our biggest issue in Loch Modan is that rogues would coordinate themselves to all target the same person, lining up three rows of poisons + bleeds on said person and having it die in about five seconds due to the overwhelming damage coming from such an accumulation.

Coordinated use of abilities [that are within the bounds of the rules], whilst potentially frowned upon, are a-okay. 9 times out of 10 the rogues/druids that do it, do it to people who are waaaaaay out of position.

The frontline isn’t out of position. We merely were outnumbered most of the time so One Alliance had to soak 2-3 Hordes.

May be a case of the fabled 1 time out of 10, in that case lmao

There are certainly some abilities I am quite surprised over being banned, aswell as not being banned. This statement applies generally to all RP-PvP events.

Applying rules such as banning Execute (hits like a wet noodle even in my gear) but letting Rampage be used at the same time is simply put a weird move.

Edit: Whilst Rampage and Aimed Shot (as examples) are hard hitting abilities, I do not believe they should be banned. They add flavour to the characters you meet, to their way of fighting. A marksman SHOULD be able to strike a true shot (critting you with an aimed shot) and a skilled combatant should be able to fire off a flurry of steel unto your face (rampage).

I’ve noticed that hunters Alliance side and casters on Horde also do a lot of these co-ordinated strikes, which can be quite the pain when trying to emote with your opponent.
