[RP-Quel'dorei/Sin'dorei] Order of Alar'Belorë

:woman_elf: :sunny: THE ORDER OF ALAR’BELORE :sunny: :man_elf:

The Order of Alar’Belore, or Order of the Sun Lord, is an RP guild headquartered in Quel’Danil in the Hinterlands. The Order originally only accepted quel’dorei, but over time - through natural guild lore development, RP, and events - we’ve opened our doors to sin’dorei as well, provided they can see beyond the maze of daily politics.

The Order does not participate in political games. We do not care who sits on which throne; our loyalty lies solely with Quel’Thalas and the crown of King Dath’Remar. We are a quiet group, gray eminences of a sort, who support, enrich, research, and protect Thalassian traditions from the background.

:sunny: The Creed of the Order

Read our manifesto

Political Affiliation

We do not take part in everyday politics and we do not consider ourselves part of either the Alliance or the Horde. Our loyalty is bound solely to the crown of King Dath’remar, the symbol of Quel’Thalas and the Thalassian people, based on the following doctrine:

The Doctrine of the Sun’s Crown is a legal approach which conceptualizes the Crown of Dath’remar as a body - a symbol embodying the Thalassian state independent of the monarch’s person. According to this, from our point of view, both the territory of the Kingdom of Quel’Thalas, the ruling elite, and all the inhabitants are only “members” or parts of this crown-body, alongside the monarch.

Third Faction

We consider Quel’Danil a de facto third Thalassian faction (fourth, if we count the ren’dorei), where the children of Quel’Thalas who share our ideals can find their place - along with peace and freedom from daily political manipulation. It is a “faction” that strives to be the voice of unity in a divided society.

Our core principles are as follows:

  • The elves of Quel’Thalas deserve respect.
  • They must never become pawns of others - neither of the Horde nor the Alliance - and should bow to no one except their own king.
  • Thirty years of political division cannot erase seven and a half thousand years of unity and shared history.
  • We follow the isolationist legacy of the High Kings Dath’remar and Anasterian, focusing primarily on the affairs of Quel’Thalas and its people - even from exile.

:sunny: What are the Order’s main goals?

Our aspirations
  • Locating, recovering and safeguarding lost Thalassian relics.
  • Uncovering forgotten knowledge, including rituals, folk customs, and more.
  • Preserving and defending Quel’Thalas’ heritage even at the cost of blood.
  • Offering help and shelter to the children of Quel’Thalas.

:sunny: Who can and who can not join the Order?

Eligibility

Quel’dorei and Sin’dorei

Those who believe in the importance of Thalassian unity, who can rise above the lies and manipulations of everyday politics, and for whom Quel’Thalas and the Thalassian people are the highest priority - those are the ones we welcome.

Those who place the Alliance or the Horde above Quel’Thalas, who raise the banners of the great factions higher than that of Quel’Thalas, are not the right fit for us, and we do not allow them into our ranks.

As a scholarly society, we are mostly made up of mages and priests, but this is not exclusive - we welcome anyone who would lend their sword, bow, other weapons, or knowledge to our cause.

Forbidden Magics are not allowed

Those practicing necromancy, hemomancy, void, fel, voodoo, or any other corruptive, dark magic are strictly forbidden to join the Order. For this reason, we cannot admit ren’dorei into our ranks either.

:sunny: What are the Order’s RP themes?

RP themes
  • Tradition Preservation

The Order’s primary goal is to preserve Thalassian traditions. Since the lore of Quel’Thalas has thousands of years full of gaps, we enjoy a certain freedom in filling in the blanks - always within the bounds of reasonable RP logic and official lore.

  • Relics

Throughout the ages, many Thalassian relics have disappeared, fallen into the wrong hands, or faded into oblivion. We seek out these items - sometimes to restore them to their rightful place, sometimes to ensure they are not used for nefarious purposes.

  • Pursuit of Ancient Knowledge

Over its seven-thousand-year history, Quel’Thalas has amassed a vast store of knowledge. We seek to uncover and preserve this for future Thalassian generations.

  • Sanctuary

Quel’Danil offers refuge to all quel’dorei who seek it. This provides countless RP opportunities, including personalized storylines and events.

:sunny: Where do the Order’s activities take place?

Most frequented places
  • Quel’Danil Lodge

Our headquarters is Quel’Danil Lodge. However, as we also welcome sin’dorei, to avoid conflict, our gathering location (when they are present) may be the Order’s estate, Thalas Belore (meaning Home of the Sun), or elsewhere in the green forests of the Hinterlands.

  • Northern Eastern Kingdoms

Our activities are largely centered in the northern regions of the Eastern Kingdoms, near Quel’Thalas. But not exclusively - we have ventured to Winterspring, Tanaris, and even Khaz Algar.

  • Quel’Thalas

As a neutral organization, we are sometimes granted access to Quel’Thalas for research purposes. This is not always free of conflict, but we’ve always managed to resolve any issues that arise.

  • Quel’dorei-Associated Regions

Sometimes we visit the Farstrider Lodge in Loch Modan and, although we have no ties to the Silver Covenant, Windrunner’s Overlook has also served as a temporary base for us.

  • Visions of the Past

A unique concept of our Order is based on the Great Codex. This ancient tome, written since the founding of Quel’Thalas, preserves forgotten knowledge and can reveal its memories from the past as visions to those deemed worthy. Entering these visions grants vital insights - without altering history - that help us achieve our goals in the present. This is not chronomancy, just retrospection.

:sunny: How do Order events take place?

Event types

Our events unfold freely, allowing great flexibility for all participants. The DM provides only the starting point and the final objective; how the players get there is entirely up to their actions. Every decision matters, every action carries weight. The DM narrates the story - but the players write it.

  • Main Story Arc

Our main storyline has been ongoing for 11 months and spans nearly 60 events. Each campaign acts like a “book” within our legendarium, with the individual events serving as chapters - like bringing a multi-volume novel cycle to life.

  • Side Stories, Spin-offs

We also organize smaller spin-off events (or even short campaigns) tied to the main story arc. These aim to uncover additional lore and enrich the immersion and depth of the narrative.

  • Personalized Events

Everyone is welcome to bring their creativity to life. Anyone who wishes can organize an event, or ask the DM to craft one based on their ideas.

RP on: We are neither of the Alliance, nor pacifists blinded by idealism. Our creed is simple: the elves of Quel’Thalas must look to none but themselves. Only Quel’Thalas matters. Only our people. We believe our kingdom should stand sovereign - beholden to no foreign crown, no outsider banner. Neither Horde, nor Alliance. We are isolationists, following the old ways.

To us, there is no difference between marching under the same flag with those who once laid waste to Quel’Thalas, who spilled Thalassian blood and nearly exterminated our people, or with those who abandoned us in our hour of greatest need. Betrayal is betrayal.

We swore fealty to Quel’Thalas as an ideal, and to the legacy of Dath’remar Sunstrider, symbolized by the crown - a symbol of the nation. Not to the whims of the Alliance or the Horde. Those who lift the banners of Stormwind or Orgrimmar above that of Silvermoon, who place foreign interests before Thalassian survival, shall find no welcome among us. We consider them traitors who serve foreign interests.

RP off: Thank you!

Sounds very interesting but why didnt you create a 100% blood elves characters guild + accepting lorewise player who desert alliance high elves.

(For exemple my character’s lore is a former high elve who quited alliance high elves, it’s why she has blue eyes instead of green.

I hate the alliance, precisely these filthy humans and also hate high elves who follow the windrunners sisters mindset etc.

Facts are, our city and lands belong to blood elves faction. Blood elves represent 90% of quel dorei survivor.

9% are alliance high elves leaded by veressa who hates blood elves and has half elves children and 1% are the void abominations leaded by the void barbie who has half elf kiddo + human paladin husbando

I used to play so many times with the VE model (adding /cancelaura on every spells )

But there to many details what remember you that you re a human pet, high elves marry humans and make half elves babies etc, you re attacked by guards if you enter in the Red City.

Even with a hard RP focus mindset, the game mechanics remember you re not in the side of the quel dorei people.

Futur is to desert the blue army and join, not the red horde, the red kingdom and get back to the motherland :elf:

And btw you cant go to quel danil lodge with a BE character. Quel danil npc are not neutral but alliance friends

Selama ashalanore

Death to our enemies even these with pointy ears

I can see guys you have short ears on your characters, then you re born from the love of a human and an elf. :grimacing:

Do not forget, if you have love for our people, what humans did to us and tried to exterminate us

Do not forget Jaina, helped by alliance high elves, who wanted to kill and remove us from Dalaran.

There is nothing more bad and evil than humans.

Rp off not an hidden ad bump uwu

IC:

We do not accept the Windrunner sisters as leaders, just as we do not consider Lor’themar’s rule legitimate. With Kael’thas’s betrayal, the line of kings was broken; in our eyes, the last legitimate leader of the Thalassian people was Anasterian Sunstrider. We follow his isolationist ideals, raise his cyan-silver banner high, and nothing else.

We do not consider the sin’dorei enemies - except, as I wrote above, if they value the Horde’s banner more than Quel’Thalas’s. In that case, we see them as traitorous, pointy-eared little orcs, just as we view the quel’dorei who raise the Alliance banner over Quel’Thalas’ banner as traitorous, pointy-eared humans. (Sadly, and to our deep regret, about 90% of quel’dorei characters fall into this category.)

We condemn the Purge of Dalaran and have no affiliation with the militaristic Silver Covenant, who prioritize the Alliance over their own heritage. Quel’Danil, while ingame technically part of the Alliance, is more flexible. It doesn’t have the clearly defined hierarchy described in lore like the Silver Covenant does, so we have more room to maneuver - and we take advantage of that.

We also do not accept half-elves into our ranks. Not because we hate them or anything like that, but simply because we share that Thalassian sense of pride: elven blood is not to be mingled. Nor do we accept ren’dorei into our ranks.

As a side note, we’ve had no shortage of conflict with humans over our isolationist politics. In Stromgarde, we’re not particularly popular IC because of this - but we don’t mind that in the slightest. Elves must walk their own path, not that of others.

OOC:

Why don’t we use blood elf models? Because, for us, moving through a city full of orcs, trolls, and undead (both OOC and IC) is just as off-putting as moving around with humans is for you. And frankly, the Horde has more races - like the ones I just mentioned - that we have IC reasons to despise than the Alliance does. Also, the life of exile undeniably has a certain romantic appeal - from an OOC perspective.

We’ve learned to ignore the game’s mechanics - they don’t really bother us. We focus solely on RP. And if we do have a sin’dorei with us, we simply don’t enter buildings in Quel’Danil (the constant NPC attacks are admittedly annoying); there’s plenty of space outside. Likewise, if we’re in Quel’Thalas, we know where to go to avoid constant NPC harassment.

The numbers you gave aren’t quite accurate, by the way. Only 10% of the Thalassian population survived the Fall, of which 9% remained in Quel’Thalas as blood elves, and 1% emigrated and remained high elves. Those who cooperate with the Horde are not high elves, only blood elves. And the ren’dorei primarily split from the sin’dorei, so it’s entirely possible that some within the 1% that remained true quel’dorei embrace the same ideal as we do.

As for the short ears (and this mostly applies only to my characters), it’s simply because I like them. They remind me a bit of the elves from The Lord of the Rings, the first fantasy beings that enchanted me as a child. It has nothing to do with humans or half-elves - it’s just a personal preference.

I hate half elves, humans, the horde.

I think majority of BE characters (the 90% you mentionned) just doesnt know and ignore the lore of the sin dorei. They just want play cute/waifus elves in the horde side.

But true sin dorei fanatics like me and many others consider the sin dorei faction as independant, just horde tagged.

Lorthemar isnt a problem, he s a regent and he never claimed to be king. He has the same role as Denethor with the Gondor.

Majority of wow players compare elves from lotr the same as high/blood elves of WoW.

What is a big mistake.

When I walk in wow, watching BE characters, majority have short ears

High and blood elves, quel dorei, have long ears.

Short and medium ears mean = half elves or less

But there are facts :

  • orcs didnt slain/attack high elves
  • trolls in the horde are not the amanis thrn not our enemies
  • undeads in the horde were but are no longer the scourge (but yes their presence is diagusting)
  • tauren… who can have issues with tauren?

Humans wanted to exterminate us (Garithos)
Arthas, cursed be his name, was a human.

Night elves expelled our ancestors from their kingdom
Nightelves were the guilty ones of why we never be back in the alliance

Humans merge with our noble race and creating atrocities like half elves.

Humans and dwarves, lorewise, enjoy to mock on us and appreciate to have us as pets or domestics.

Jaina the psychotic murderer

Blood elves will never help a troll leader to exterminate high elves. Unlike silver covenant helped Jaina

The less good bad place of the quel dorei is in the horde

The right good place for us is independancy a third faction only for quel dorei.

Playing VE model means impossiblity to access to our sacred land and the Silvermoon City.

Its like being jewish a cant visit jerusalem or being muslim and cant visit the mecca.

Sin dorei faction, atm, doesnt forbid high elves to go back in the city and in the sin dorei faction.

Only void elves monsters are not allowed.

At my humble opinion, considered all pros/cons, the best right good model for playing quel dorei is BE.

I consider myself as a a high elf refugee, returned into our sacred land and City and acquired Sin dorei nationnality after all years I served for the red kingdom. :elf:

Even chatgpt agrees

Recommendation

  • If your RP story leans toward Alliance themes: Go with the Void Elf model for faction convenience and adjust the appearance to look like a High Elf.
  • If you want strict lore accuracy: The Blood Elf model is a closer fit to High Elves’ traditional appearance and origins.

You mentionned following our deceased beloved King, killed by a human. This is very interesting.

With your full intellectual elvish honesty (after all we are not savages, animals or humans)

If the Light allows and resurect Anasterian Sunstrider tomorrow.

Where do you think he s gonna go back?

  • The red city with 90% of survivors with majority of quel dorei who used fel crystals to survive and few high elves returned

OR

  • alliance high elves in stormwind/quel danil as eternal refugees and humans pets?

Imo he s gonna go back in Silvermoon, shaking lorthemars hand with a “thanks for your service mister” and sit in his throne.

Big boom bada bump

I’m sorry to say this, but every word you write reeks of bias in favor of the Horde - something you try to deny, but it’s obvious. You’re presenting numerous half-truths, factual errors, assumptions, and even personal preferences as if they were facts or universally valid truths - but they’re not. Citing ChatGPT as an argument is, at the very least, questionable. (I’m a historian - source citation is the greatest critic of every theory.)

The fact that you claim the orcs never attacked the High Elves is the bottleneck here. So the Second War never happened, Gul’dan never defiled the runestones, the orcs never allied with the Amani, Orgrim Doomhammer never promised Zul’jin to eradicate Quel’Thalas and the elves, they never burned Eversong to ashes and they never reached Silvermoon. Of course they did not.

And that’s just one of the many factual errors you’ve made. That’s why I won’t waste time to refute your other statements - I’m certain we won’t come to an agreement. So I think we can end this conversation here.

Therefore, we kindly ask that you respect this channel, and do not spam it with your disguised Horde propaganda. (Yeah, yeah, I know - “it’s not an ad”. And I’m the Pope.)

This channel serves a recruitment purpose for those who might actually be interested in the project, which is clearly not you, and your character isn’t the intended audience either.

Have a nice day and glory for the true, Cyan-Silver colors of the High Home! :sunny:

Hello there!

While I understand from your post that you lovely fellows will usually be to find around Quel’Danil, is there some way to check for your presence elsewhere? My toon is Sin’dorei, and while faction-change wouldn’t be a great issue, it’d be sad to lose some of the flavor from green eyes and certain potential affiliations (such as the Sunreavers).

(General Kenobi!)

Hey!

Most of our casual RP happens around Quel’Danil (not just in the buildings, so the NPCs do not bother our sin’dorei members), but our events are all around the Northern parts of the Eastern Kingdoms. And sometimes even beyond - just like it will happen on Thursday (June 26) when we’ll go to the Swamp of Sorrows. It will be an event together with the Hinterlands Community, it is open, you can join if you want!

Also, if you’d like to meet us outside of an event for some casual RP, we can arrange something planned at a place we agree on previously. Feel free to message me ingame so we can discuss this.

Rp on: You speak of the Prince’s betrayal, but wasn’t he the one that was betrayed and manipulated? By the Alliance led by Garithos, sentenced to death? By the Kirin Tor that imprisoned him? By Illidan that only gave him the bare minimum for his aid? By his own general and troops that joined A’dal? In the end betrayed by his own people.

Would he had been driven to such extremes were it not for the duplicitous people that he met in his hour of most dire need. Such challenges he faced hadn’t been met since the first of his line. One could say that even Dath’Remar faced easier challenges. Perhaps once what became the scryers betrayed him he should have returned home, with the energy he had stockpiled from Netherstorm and the fleet of naaru vessels, but that would be a temporary solution… What the Prince lacked was loyal and good advisors unfortunately there were not enough good elves left after the war.

Regardless it is clear now that the Prince’s vision wasn’t the one that held the prosperous future for our people. I beseech only a fraction of respect and understanding towards the last member of the Sunstrider line, that wore a burden that proved too great for his shoulders alone.

Rp off: Love the innitiave for this kind of Rp. Wonderful that everyone has kept it going for this long and hopefully it will continue for much longer! Got a bit inspired by the rp above, sorry for some Kael’thas apologetics. I would have my character poke my nose in your rp but he is a warlock, so better not  Regardless wish you all the best of luck and have fun!

Kael’thas’s judgment is obviously not simple. And yes, from an OOC perspective, I understand the logic behind what you’re saying.

But IC, our guild - or at least most of our members - sees him as someone who turned a tragedy into an even greater one. He should never have adapted the fel, never collaborated with the Legion or Illidan, and ultimately all that led to the further fracturing of an already shattered society. By doing so, he also betrayed the path of the ancestors, his father’s legacy, and perhaps dug an irreparable trench within Thalassian society.

OOC, I understand, of course. But even OOC, the question remains - do good intentions justify bad actions? If we follow the philosophy of Niccolò Machiavelli - “the end justifies the means” - then yes. But by that logic, even Arthas could be partially excused for his actions, since he was manipulated. Personally, I don’t agree with that, but as I said, I objectively understand the reasoning.

As for RP… Well, yes, warlocks don’t really fit the profile of our guild. :sunny: But that’s not a deal-breaker for a meetup - after all, it’s not about recruiting at all costs, but about playing and having fun. And if you have a character who would actually fit the guild, we’d be happy to meet them too.

Of course the opinions of my character don’t reflect my own  Though the Prince was a man put in an impossible position that personally I wouldn’t envy, having been powerless and absent when his father and 90% of his people died, having to still lead the remains in this desperate struggle for survival. Arguably the only benefit that came out of Illidan’s deal was the techniques to siphon away energy from magical beings / items, and being saved by Lady Vash from execution of himself and the army under him.

I find it interesting placing myself in the shoes of characters with flawed positions, then having those positions possibly change in time. It was this that brought me to wanting to rp this character, Alorthereon. Someone that was there through the Prince’s fall from grace, but also was there through the hardships, and tough decisions that he faced.

Of course I don’t claim they were personally close, my character was just part of the Prince’s army. Still I imagine it would be something that would create empathy towards him, and a different perspective.

He has had time to mellow out from most extreme views that he might have held in the decade + of isolation, since I am not very keen on playing a raging character when interacting with others. Regardless I don’t wish to clog your recruitment page more than necessary, but it could be interesting to meet some time. He is on a “pilgrimage” from the Blasted Lands to Quel’thalas, so would pass relatively close to Quel’Danas. =)
