Attention all interested quel’dorei and sin’dorei!
This evening at 19:30 (realm time) an archery contest will take place in Quel’Danil. All participants are warmly welcome. No prior registration is required, but please don’t be late - once the contest has begun (approximately around 20:00), new entries will no longer be accepted.
Those who are not masters of the bow but would like to come and cheer are also most welcome!

Rules for the Upcoming Archery Contest
- Participants must aim to hit the target - the closer to the center, the more points they earn.
- After each shot, the next participant takes their turn.
- Every shot is represented by a roll; the number rolled corresponds to the points scored.
- First, you roll - and based on the result, you write an emote describing the shot. Naturally, a NAT20 means a perfect bullseye, while a NAT1 means the shot completely misses the target (perhaps a squirrel startled you, or a marmot bit your leg - something along those lines). The latter earns no points.
- Anything between 2 and 19 is up to your creativity - describe the shot as you wish, according to how close or far it lands from the center.
- At the end, the total sum of all rolls determines the final ranking.
Contest Formats:
The format of the contest depends on the number of participants.
- Five or fewer participants: The contest will follow a round-robin format. Each archer will have nine arrows to shoot, and the final ranking will be based on their total accumulated score.
- Six or more participants: The contest will include qualifying rounds (three arrows per participant in each round). After each round, the two lowest-scoring archers will be eliminated from the tournament. In the case of an odd number of participants, only one archer will be eliminated at the end of the first qualifying round.
Final Round:
The two best archers - either the top two from the round-robin table or the final two in a knockout format - will compete in the final. In this decisive round, each archer will shoot three additional arrows, and their performance here will determine the first-place winner.
Special Rule for Knockout Format:
In a knockout tournament, after each qualifying round, the points accumulated up to that stage are halved and then added as bonus points to the scores obtained in the following round. In the case of an odd total score, the result will be rounded down after halving.
Victory and Title:
The participant who achieves the highest total score at the end of the contest will be declared the winner and earn the prestigious title of Archery Champion of Quel’Danil, along with the honor and trophy that accompany it.
