RP server rules not being abided

I though nelves were the thing?

Funny topsy-turvy AD…

(JOKING!!!)

Every walking NPC and player-chara is desirable in Goldshire. :sleepy:

Semi-serious question here:

I need to level my character to 60+ for the concept I envision. She also happens to be human.

Is there a way to bypass Goldshire and if so how?

Yeah, once you get northshire done you can just go to any other start zone no penalty. So like dun morogh which is a great zone, leading straight to loch modan which is insanely quick EXP.

Come and join us, always happy to lend a hand in game with getting settled if need be or helping a new char set up on the server if their intent is pure . I’m not as prolific as some of the organised RPers (ATM I can only really do as hoc RP due to gaming time) but I know enough of what’s what to point stuff out.

Excellent. I’ll need to flesh out my char first: atm she is literally “human that delivers goods between cities with a flying machine”. Not the most fleshed out char but it’s a start no?

Thus spake Paximillian of Argent Dawn! :stuck_out_tongue:

Just make sure you get the “Total RP3” addon which is fully customizable (you can even hide the perma-visible button menu) which will help you in the beginning.

I think it depends what kind of human she is (Stormwind, KT, Gilneas, somewhere else, …) and what mount you’re using. Is it one of the machines the gnomes have built for her? A flying delivery service is surely interesting but works she alone? What’s about her family? You can also create a guild which pseudo-acts as your own service (which I would only recommend if you don’t want to join other guilds with your character). Otherwise keep the character grounded with what she can do or not. Most RP happens also literally on the ground.

If you or anyone else needs some help and want to practice some basic RP, feel free to get in touch with me.

hah, yeah same, i created a character, walked a bit through stormwind and marvelled at everyones transmogs. they seem to put in so much more thought and effort in it. then i chickened out and logged off again.

but thanks for the link i ll give it a read once i am done eating.

Off the top of my head probably stormwind. I imagine either a self-built flying machine or salvaged.

Thanks for the tips!

After I typed that I realised half my characters violate that rule, but they’re gnomes, everyone teases us anyway. Gnomes are exempt from the rule

Small but distinct is the best way to start. There’s no point having a saga of conceptual backstory if that isn’t going to actually crop up in your RP, and continually forcing others to confront your backstory is kinda heavy handed, artificial in a way.

Ask yourself does my concept give my character some kind of clear aim as to “what they are about in this world” if the answer is yes, that’s enough to roll with, let the rest develop naturally.

Piloting a flying machine for deliveries is certainly enough to do that. It begs lots of questions that you can discover the answers to as you go. For example one of my gnomes would probably ask stuff like:
“So did you have military gyrocopter training at all? Or always been in the transport game?”
“She’s a beauty, where did you get her? Or did you make her yourself?”
“Ever took part in a gyrocopter race? They’re something else!”

You may not know the answers now, but how you respond, even if it’s a fudgey vague answer because you’re not sure, that’s what RP is, storytelling!

It sounds like a fun concept to start with for sure in my opinion. Less military/soldier of fortune roles are always cool to explore.

As leaf said TRP 3 is a great way to add dimension, but don’t be discouraged from trying without it. It’s very useful, but not needed. You just need imagination and to not treat things as life and death. Very very very few people will give you grief for blips.

+1 for mechagnome. Excellent choice.

Is it really so frightening for newcomers? When I started back then I was more scared of the public mass events

I don’t know about the others but for me it was the apprehension of doing something wrong and spoiling it for other people.

However I’ve done a few smaller RP things with just friends which others joined in with and went to the argent tournament and no one pulled me up for anything so i must be doing something right

Bit of advise for those wanting to avoid Goldshire. Answer is you don’t have to. Simply turn WM on and then it really isn’t too bad. Most of the lunatics there have it switched off and they ever so nicely disappear when WM is on.

Plus you get the ever so nice 30% buff.

A Forsaken LV120 rogue stalks the area around Goldshire, can be a bit nasty.
