Wounds were scars, monsters were now trophies and threats were now tales to boast and sing.
The Black swan, once a dainty damsel, slept safe and sound.
But two weeks ago?
A once formidable foe now held books upright with their skull upon a captains shelf. His empty sockets felt fixed upon her as she reclined in her old leather chair.
The waters were calmed and the lands were sleeping with peace. By all means this was a captain’s chance to retire and be saved from a violent end of going down with their ship.
A black crow polished his ebon beak against the window frame and while looking past him with tired, coal framed eyes, Khalila could see the still waters. Quiet, calmed, mocking waters. Its calm and cool ignited a fever to the captains blood. It ripped her hand out to grab the nearest book and throw it out into the sea.
Its fall was utterly anticlimactic. A dull little splash. Perhaps it startled a fish below, at best. At least the crow got startled enough to change perch to the bedpost.
But the captain’s glare lingered at the rings it spread after its fall. First one, then another. And another. The soaked book began to slowly sink, and yet rings were forming over the waters. It was no storm but it was something and this something scratched the most violent and fiery side of Khalila Darling’s soul.
She rose quickly from her seat and ripped the door to her quarter open.
“Owyn! Find me some starved hunters, now!”
“Wh- now? I’m eating here!”
“Now, Owyn! It’s time to wake these waters!”
Today
“The Black Swan is a grim testament to the limits of redemption. Despite my efforts to extend mercy and reason to Captain Khalila Darling, she and her crew have chosen a path of violence and destruction. They have not only taken the lives of countless brave sailors but also inflicted untold suffering on innocent people. For the good of the realm and its people, we must put an end to their cruelty. The time for reasoning has passed; now we must act. Light willing, I will see the Black Swan brought to justice.”
- Captain Benedict Reade, HMS Redemption of the Stormwind Royal Navy.
OOC
We are a crew of once pirate hunters turned pirates who hunt.
We are a friendly bunch and together we create stories where we touch on comedy, horror, action, and drama. Often all in the same event! We set up a playground for you, and you decide to what extent you wish to partake and help build this playground. Build a sandcastle. Kick down another castle. Make sand-angels. Get sand in places where no one should have sand…-
While we are an old guild born in early 2017, we have been snoozing and inactive for quite some time, ‘til now. We ask everyone who joins us to consider this. We’re in the stretching and waking up to a new mornin’ phase. Fetch some coffee and hop on!
What we offer:
- A playground for pirates with a goal to make everyone feel invited to join in the play, not obligated to or excluded from.
- A discord full of channels both for ooc interactions and for ic interactions.
- A manual about life aboard, your new inventory, crew and responsibilities.
- A friendly and respectful environment.
- Power to influence the paths the ship and crew takes, including the NPCS we use.
- Oodles of chances to wound, scare and rattle your character.
- Crew tattoos based on events your character manages to survive!
Oh and before we forget!
- No level restrictions
- No race/class restrictions aside Death knights, demon hunters, dracthyrs, warlocks, pyromaniacs and part smurf/part volvo; mix breeds.
- Yes, we do recruit horde but with the warning that we do at times move in Alliance only areas so it may be limiting.
- Yes, we accept alts.
- NO, you do not need to know how to sail IRL.
- We love questions. Throw them our way, I dare you.
- If you’d like to work alongside us, just contact us in game.
- If you wish to join this crew you only need to reach out to us in game or via discord. (khaliladarling)
Fair winds and much love,
Captain Darling and the Black Swan crew.
