My answer is this

if you don’t rush cuz all the dodos are rushing, you will have HARD time getting into groups if you fall even several ilvl behind the expected average.

if you don’t rush - you will be only dependent on your own groups that no one will join, or on the mercy of your friends.

I dislike this too and would enjoy more timegating but it is what it is.

I dont know in GW2 i can also feed the cows wash them and cheer the depressed cows to complete quest or just level up by crafting.

Wow just has no imagination of different ways to level up.

they even limited the number of first craft bonus exp per char.

however you can fully level to 80 with pet battles.

Speak for your self i play both its just that when i get bored of wow eventually GW2 is always there and i never have to do the boring leveling or even more boring gear grind

nope. they made it harder.
in blizz, you go inside ony raid and go out 20 min after with loot.
on turtle, you go in, and raid is done after 8 hours without loot, bc no have more gold to repire gear

So was vanilla: I levelled to 70 in tbc by only killing mobs. Come back when you’ve levelled to cap without quests or dungeons.
