San'layn/Dark Ranger Megathread Allied Race

Yes, because the idea with neutral race was bad and they don’t want to create more of them.

dark rangers are a class not a race. They are all forsaken. Also the last San’layn prince was killed so no more San’layn.

Undead High Elves.

Not true.

one unheard of Blood Prince died with neophytes , go see what a neophyte is Im done explaining, there are two more existing ones we know of and they are missing

Here you see the list of San’layn there are two blood princes still missing

Keep in mind Blood Prince Dreven came out of nowhere so.

You have my support OP, I actually really like the idea of playing an evil race that isn’t the forsaken for once.

Also really wanted to play a San’layn ever since I saw that prince npc slamdunk the Gnome in Vol’dun.

Yea they add more variety to the forsaken Which is a really cool thing in my opinion !

When did blizzard admit that pandaren were a big fail o.O

Yeah more elves
/sarcasm off

Never 10chars

I may be saying a totally dumb thing here… but am I the only one wondering how much a Holy spec would fit such a race, on a priest?

I’ve been wondering the same and opposite thing about shadows for High Elves, so here’s my idea… give the Sen’Layn a purely cosmetic change of a healing spec into ‘Blood’, with the same ‘values’ and spells (so no need to develop and balance something new) and just different names and animations.

This could also become available/unlocked through some major glyph to apply to other account priests after unlocking the Sen’Layn as an allied race?

I bet a sheer number of troll and undead priests would quite like such a cosmetic option.

Also, it would make playing a horde and alliance priests feel different despite of the exact same talent specs.

'member blood knights being basically the dark shamans of paladins? i member, good times

Void elves?
they have priest too… I also play her as holy

It would be amazing and give the void elves a similar one with healing through void

That would not need to be taken away, no worries there.

What I mean is that, in my opinion a Sen’Layn could have a cosmetic option to heal through Blood magic rather than Holy.

Same way, a Void Elves could have a cosmetic option to heal through Void.

Then a High Elf (if it ever becomes a thing) could have a cosmetic option to dps through Light.

And once the allied races are available, their faction’s equivalent should/could be able to unlock this aesthetic customization, too.

But all the Allied Races (current or speculative) should still retain the option to use the ‘standard’ specs, obviously. We’re talking of cosmetic changes after all, not a real extra/different spec. Just different flavor to the same spells.

Just dreaming, I know, but after all this is a speculation/suggestion thread, so I thought I’d tip it in.

I would be so down for it !

Two options are open:

  • A dark ranger class with a night elven playable model for Alliance side or a blood elven playable model for Horde. Both with different aesthetics like pale skins, red eyes, tattoos, … , that work like for the Demon Hunters.

  • A San’layn allied race that differs totally from the blood elves using the blood princes and blood queen models, with customization like bat-wings, ears … .

or Warden for Alliance

Dark Ranger for Horde

Remember how Horde had no paladins and Alliance no shamans?
See that’s why that’s not gonna happen.
