So , Dear blizzard, can you make Overlord runthak/ Saurfang and the alliance equivalent immune to sap/blind/stun/CCs when they are making the walk to pop onyxia head/ nefarian Head? The entire server of Gandling Horde( and alliance i guess) except the few no life retards that enjoy this type of griefing would be very happy. Thank you in advance

that will remain the solution for now, Kork. but the fact that a simple CC on the NPC completely cancels his little world buff routine is utter BS.
when 1 rogue can jump into a major city and troll/grief everyone there by using sprint + blind on an npc there is a major issue that should be addressed.
while i admire this alliance rogue’s ability to get away with this, i didn’t even know it was possible to do it because i’ve never seen it before… like, i’d assume Runthak/Saurfang are immune to CC from the get-go or at least during the duration of their RP-routine.
like this goes above and beyond griefing individual players by dispelling or ganking them.
ironically, this thread is giving that rogue exactly what he wanted, which is salty horde players crying about not getting their ony buff.
if he is happy with just this, I am happy for making his miserable existance a little better. He still remains miserable.
What i care most about is that they make BOTH ally and horde npc immune to CC. i guess we have to wait for more people to complain and then blizz will take action, as per usual after a couple months.
I’ve never seen this happen before, but it definitely falls within the “griefing” category. Unlike priests dispelling wbuffs (which is something you expose yourself to the moment you decide to roll on a PvP server), this kind of behavior is impossible to avoid even if you couldn’t care less about PvP.
Hopefully Blizzard will just make these NPCs CC immune - that seems to be the simplest solution.

Get a lock with felhunter or a hunter sniff out the rogue,not hard.
We had the same thing on ZT the other day. NPC does his speech then sapped and no buff. Hunter flare plus pet on aggressive for the next one certainly resolved it with others dumping enough AOE on the area. The wider problem of course is the reliance on these world buffs in the first place. Have the buffs drop when entering a raid and it becomes a non issue.

it sucks (even if it was funny when I first saw it), but you can reset the timer by getting a priest from the opposing faction to MC the NPC, kill him, and then wait for the respawn.
Both are considered griefing, they’re just not the reportable kind of griefing.
I can’t see why this would be any more or less of an example of “grieffing” than dispelling buffs off of the opposing faction. You’re preventing the opposing faction from getting a world buff. That’s all it is.
This is my preferable solution.
griefing the other faction is perfectly fine. that is why outdoors non duel pvp exists in the first place

Thanks for the usual PvP server posturing. I guess that’s why Dishonorable Kills (on quest NPCs) exist, and why PvE servers are called Normal.
Make them immune to mind control too then.
u can look up the demographics of the servers and the definition of normal if u dont take my word for it
I can understand that your PvP-tuned brain can find it hard to process that it was the devs’ intention for consensual-only PvP to be the “normal” mode, and that they actively discourage non-consensual forms of PvP on such servers (such as griefing on NPCs), but please do try to not act too shocked or surprised when the current devs end up fixing this somehow
That might be a consequence, but I’m sure players will find a way around it (for example, just letting a party of the opposite faction kill the NPC)
dhks only mean something if u are ranking. griefing is basically encouraged on the world bosses
this is not an issue on mograine at least. we like most realms have issues like people reseting the buffs through mind control and alliance getting wcb.
