Did everything as Valedrin and deleted C:\ProgramData\Battle.net. Still keeps scanning and again and again and again and againâŠ
If I launch the game directly via WowClassic.exe I get following error:

How can i update and start the game without Battle.net (complete reinstall didnât help) - some kind of force update ?

No, reinstall is not helping. Iâve done as in instruction but error still appear and Scan process is looped. Can you please do something with it Blizzard???
The âfixâ has not fixed it for me either - tried both the re-install of battle.net and the removal of IDX files and it still keeps scanning - if the original problem has been resolved the consequences of it havenât for me.
Gotta love how the Blue marked his own post as the solution, when its not actually resolved.
Tried everything you guys said but its still the same, so I dont wanna be toxic but its so frustrating, at least give us an answer that you are trying to solve the problem, come on blizzard
Guys here is how I fixed it after billion hours wasted for scanning.
Stop scanning and Uninstall the game.
Manually delete all folders and files but:
And Install the game again.
You will have all AddOns, key bindings, taskbars, etc.
I think deleting the Data folder was a solution.

Dear Blizzard, could you give to this guy the salary of person who should actually solve this issue? Thx m8 it worked. I lost whole weekend, weather was bad and all i wanted is to spend some time in the game. Unfortunatly i lost 3 days of game time without possibility to play. One more thing - do us a favor Blizzard and do not make any updates before the weekend, especially crapy ones

Having this problem too, even after the update earlier. Stuck on Update > Scan > Error > Update cycle of death.
EDIT: Just reporting that unistalling the game and installing it again fixed the issue. At least for now.
Same here, iâve uninstalled the battle.net app. Removed the files that Blizzard recommended, re-install the battle.net launcher. Update the game, but iâm still stuck at âScanning game filesâ. I wanted to play yesterday and was like âOkay, sure some scanning I donât mindâ But then 1 hour later and no results I shutdown my computer and went to bed.
When I got home from work today iâm doing it again, and guess what?! Iâm still stuck at the damn âScanning filesâ again. And the message I get is âWhoops, looks like something broke. Error code: BLZBNTAGT00000BB8â Guess iâm not getting my weekly chests at wednesday either. Because of this bs.
