Not that I disagree that scatter → trap was too strong, but why do mages of all classes have a guaranteed 16 sec CC chain when they can kill someone in 3 seconds without casting?

Trap is instant and poly is a casted spell. You also need to be in melee range of the healer to db-sheep, while scatter can be used from range. There’s your difference.
