Why does Scatter shot share DR with Freezing trap?

Scatter -> Trap was OP so it got shared DR

Trap is instant and poly is a casted spell. You also need to be in melee range of the healer to db-sheep, while scatter can be used from range. There’s your difference.

Didn’t scatter work with MM hunter’s matery, though? Effectively making it larger range than the 20 yards. The person you db-poly has 1-2 partners on their team that often have a plenty of ways to stop the 1.4 seconds cast-time. Sure, you can get the enemy team to stack on their healer (not too likely against decent players) or get cross-cc from your teammates to secure the thing, but that definitely requires more thought than scattering into an instant freezing trap would.
