I wonder if part of this issue is because when someone changes group it adds the new Party Sync button to the Map Frame? Perhaps the flickering is caused whenever an update event causes the party sync button to potentially get redrawn.

It does happen while not grouped though. It seems to flash whenever you engage mobs in the world regardless of grouping. Attacking the world bosses for example. Could be caused by some weird ui check that’s looking for the party sync button while the quest tracker is on screen?

That explains it, I have mine adjusted to be a bit darker but bring out more of the color vibrancy.

Why would they even think of putting in such a silly addition to try force override peoples gamma etc preferences?

Edit: Seen the new blue post, so it looks like this bug/“feature” will be going away soon. Yay.

My gamma is at default and I still get the flickering occasionally so it’s not solely caused by the user previously changing their gamma from default.

There’s a good video on the US forum of a Druid causing the flicker by shifting back to humanoid form.

I recorded a video to check what is going on.
For one frame in the video the picture goes darker.
This happens with all addons disabled when i am in combat mostly in stormsong.
The game UI does not change. Only the world.

Equipping and removing the Shroud of Cooperation (Guild Vendor, Teleport cloak) Triggers this flicker 100% of the time in Nazjatar

In Orgrimmar your whole toon flickers but not the screen. Weird rendering bug. :slight_smile:

Any news? While doing Island Expeditions my eyes are killing me it flickers all the time. I know it will sound hilarious but pls Blizz fix that it is rly unhealthy o_O

I have the same problem, mostly notable in lighter areas of the game. Really annoying, its like 100% to flicker when i exit Ghost Wolf and its also alot more intensive when fighting in Island expeditions.

Have tried everything suggested here, nothing helps.

I feel the need to correct you. We coined that term.

Joking aside, with these kinds of things, we always need to make sure that the fix doesn’t cause more trouble than it fixes, or affects the players that didn’t experience the issue in the first place, so it can take a while, but we always work trying to resolve these problems as soon as possible.

Thank God I’m not the only one, I feared my video card was broken.
I can trigger the flashes by changing gear sets.

Eeeeehhhh…flashing like CRAZY now that I’m leveling my Worgen in Drustvar. Combat, item pickup, using items etc…flash flash flash!

so i found another fix for it, my monitors have the option to increase refresh rate, and after i reducing the refresh rater to normal from faster , the flickering stopped.

Dont work for me, i try dx change, trun off g-sync, switch on 60Hz nothing work, this is something on blizzard site.

Same issue.
But i’m playing on my iMac.
I have some blinks/glitches when someone leave/enter raid, and sometimes in the battle;

All drivers for AMD videocard is up to date;

Any progress?
